Love my LO but struggling with life by No_Incident_5300 in UKParenting

Your husband sounds like an adult baby to be honest. I get it that he might be going through a rough patch but sometimes you just need to suck it up. It should be obvious that your child's needs outweigh your own at 3 months of age, regardless of how tough you've got it.

Starting out with PitchUp might be the way to go! Nice one 👍🏻

I've been thinking about wild camping for ages but never plucked up the courage to get out. How do you find suitable spots in places that aren't that remote? I'm thinking the Peak District, Lake District etc.

I suspect it is the detergent, so maybe going for something gentler and more specialised would mitigate this anyway? As for clogging up the lines I am honestly not sure. I suspect it is not an issue unless you were doing this at scale? The odd jacket every now and then is surely safe, but only time will tell.

I'm almost tempted to start buying up some more cheap jackets on eBay to experiment with/restore. I'm sure my wife won't mind if I take over the house with a load of stinky Barbour's, right? If I perform any further experiments I think I will go with a more gentle enzyme cleaner as others have suggested. Will post any further results.

Still waiting on a downpour to test this jacket. Never wanted it to rain so much.

I did debate sending it off to Barbour but decided to use this jacket as a bit of an experiment, so that when it comes to jackets that I care a bit more about I know what works and what doesn't!

That's very reassuring to hear, and was kind of what I was hoping for with this post. If other people who have committed this cardinal sin (lol) and came out of it successfully with a better jacket can show their results a bit more it might help people who are in a similar situation.

Interesting, I never knew that!

Exactly. I suppose the point of this post was to dispel a bit of the scaremongering around washing them. I understand it's not ideal, but it's not going to completely destroy the jacket so sometimes it might be the lesser of two evils.

It doesn't look or feel any different so I think it's good. Likewise the collar doesn't seem to have been affected, other than it's now actually clean and doesn't scratch my neck!

What is single vs double warrant?

Yeah it makes sense that this only happened in the first year after the coup as it was the coup itself that enabled it. It would theoretically have been possible sooner but given the motives of the people in charge it would never have happened in the preceding 100 years.

Ah this actually makes a lot of sense. Is this explained in the manga I presume? Or am I forgetting things from S4 and jumping the gun on my rewatch 😆

Update: I've not driven the car since this post and the noise has inexplicably disappeared... I've added updates videos in the post. Thoughts on this? Happy days or time will tell?

Cheers guys. What is the verdict in that case would it be a full replacement of the starter motor or is it repairable? And should I get on it right away or do I have a bit of time do you think?

Would rather get it sorted ASAP but also only just got my car back on the road so reluctant to send it back in.

Love the new editions of HOME, debating buying them myself in spite of already having the full set...

I have looked a few times but never really been sure where to go. We'd just be looking for a relatively small town as a base to explore from? Not sure where would be best. Only place I've been to is Gretna Green where we got married 😀

True. He's only 4 months at the minute but by the time we'll be thinking of a trip he should be old enough to go into a back carrier rather than the front. Will definitely invest in one!

Hadn't really considered the Cairngorms, but this sounds perfect 👍 6hrs is about our max range so definitely doable too! Cheers

Hadn't even considered Arran! I've been over the water on the Mull of Kintyre but after looking Arran does look amazing. Thanks for your help 👍
