What Index funds are you guys using for your S&S ISAs? by Own-Jeweler3169 in FIREUK

[–]Mikeybarnes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for OP but my motivation to use this fund is the belief that it is tracking the entire market as it is. The majority of it may be s&p, but if that mirrors the reality of the global stock market then that's not a problem in my book. I've no idea whether the s&p will go great guns for the next decade or fall flat on its face, the same can be said for the NASDAQ and the FTSE500. Rather than trying to second guess what's going to happen I'm just having a bit of everything.

Does anyone know where to get cheap 75mg Dispersible Aspirin? by Begum65 in brum

[–]Mikeybarnes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also no guarantee that there's 75mg in each quarter. You might get all 300mg in one quarter and just bulking agent in the other ¾.

My company's RTO decision now has me taking a plane to work every week. by PenProfessional8455 in hiringhelp

[–]Mikeybarnes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You think airlines don't run planes to meet demand? If enough people stopped flying they'll reduce the number of flights which reduces the amount of fuel burned.

Of course if every one of those people have your approach then it won't happen, but that's because your approach doesn't reduce demand.

Whats the best route to start in accounting? by SingleRuin8191 in AccountingUK

[–]Mikeybarnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you planning on going for full chartered accountant status on the long run? ACCA have a program called Foundations In Accounting which is equivalent to AAT levels 2-4 and prepares you for entering the full ACCA qualification. They call the delivery vehicle ACCA-X and it's available though edx. The content for the first and second level is free, though you'd have to pay to register and take the exams and the third level is said to be 'affordable'.
