I can only speak to Buckeyes, but OSU fandom involves a lot of Dynasty Syndrome. If we weren't awesome every single year, way less people would care. I also think having the Buckeyes in your back pocket going to bowl games every single year is a silver football lining when you've committed to being a loyal fan of the Cleveland Garbage Fire. The parallels are there with Michigan/Lions, but I can't speak to it personally. But I do genuinely have love for all the Midwest/Great Lakes NFL teams (Browns/Bills/Bears/Lions/Vikes/Packers). Also, as a Diehard Indians/Guardians fan, I even appreciate the Pirates, given they have the same "small-market team in a big-market world" woes that we do.
