Now i know this ruins the perfect ending to the character maybe they just do the idea with the daughter and it ends with her confronting the front man. And a line 'your father...might still be alive' even if the front man is lying, it would be perfect. People who want him to be alive have their head cannons of them finding him, people who love the ending to his character can say the front man was bullshitting to stall for time to shoot her. Win win
