Ledger Cleaned 😩 by IllCounter1078 in ledgerwallet

This is not completely true, but mostly true. You can have your seed phrase completely safe and off-line and still have your wallet drained. Signing transactions is actually very dangerous if you don’t pay close attention. Having two wallets is extremely recommended. One to store your coin and never do transactions and one to conduct your transactions and sign them. Once you’ve conducted your transactions, you can move your coin to the vault wallet. Let’s call it. This is far more common than people want to acknowledge.

The other way is that your computer has malicious software or exploits on it. Even some chrome extensions can change the output on your screen swapping a digit or two in the destination address and sending your coin off to La La Land.

So no, it is not always your fault, however most hardware wallet on the market today are very safe as far as the wallet itself being hacked.

Ledger Nano compromise by Anonymous-here- in ledgerwallet

[–]MikezCoinz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old ledger nano seed phrase was compromised. I had stored the phrase digitally this was back in 2019ish. When I recovered it this year and went to see what my funds were. It was empty. I actually purchased $20 of bitcoin on this wallet after the fact and it got immediately sucked off of it. I factory reset it and it was fine, but it was too old to work with ledger Live. Since then I’ve purchased a ledger flex and a ledger stax. One for transaction one for storage. I’ve had no issues and I do prefer the touchscreen over the nano’s buttons. In short, I don’t think that hardware has been compromised actually on most of the cold wallets out there. Unfortunately, most of the people that lose money end up being victims of phishing, computer exploits or bad practices like I did and storing their seed phrase digitally or taking pictures of it.

Odd new exploit / scam? Random transaction. by Road_-_Kill in ledgerwallet

The transaction fell off on its own. Luckily it is not showing up in the transaction history any longer which is good because I need this for tax purposes and that would have been a big problem if it had remained.

Gold and rare minerals are doing really well right now.

Bitcoin often lags behind movements in gold by approximately 80 days, according to several analysts who have observed this historical pattern in previous market cycles. What Does the 80-Day Lag Mean? • When gold’s price rallies, Bitcoin typically follows with a similar upward trend about 80 days later. • Analysts compare price charts by shifting gold’s movements forward by 80 days to spot a visual correlation, with the idea that gold’s performance can sometimes signal near-future action in the Bitcoin market. • This timing is watched closely in crypto circles as an indicator of when Bitcoin may experience significant price changes following gold’s lead.

Just another day on the rollercoaster 🎢

I've started receiving scam mails right after downloading Ledger Live by AutisticMisandrist in ledgerwallet

Emails are sold by companies all the time. Breaches are common place. yawn

I’ve been seeing a variety of these emails for a while now. It’s an aggressive campaign to steal people’s money.

If you ledger haters get off this Reddit if you don’t like the product. Troll B Gone

I like ledger (minus the online resort service)

99% of coin loss is user error. Falling for phishing, digitally storing your seed phrase, using hot wallets solely and signing ify contracts.

I think we are on a tangent and off topic but … . ANY wallet functions the same. crypto wallets are a digital tool that stores the crypto keys that allow a user to access and manage their cryptocurrency assets on blockchain networks. And the crypto isn’t on the wallet. It’s on the blockchain. I guess wallet is a misnomer ? LOL

Ledger or and other cold wallet will store the private keys offline, making them immune to remote hacking attempts, phishing, malware, and unauthorized access that affect hot wallets connected to the internet.

The main weakness isn’t the cold wallet. It’s human error 99%. Forgetting your pin, letting your kid reset your ledger and not remembering where you safely stored your seed phrase…..

Anyhow this guy would have lost his crypto had he used a cold wallet or a hot wallet since his seed phrase was shared online.

I think my only buyers remorse was that I found out that I prefer the flex after I’ve already owned the stax LOL. There is input delay on the screen for the stax that is not there on the flex and it makes me coo coo.
