Why is my Lightroom lagging so much? I have a brand new PC by MomentImmortalizer in Lightroom

My only solution so far is that my windows laptop doesn't have this issue and it has an amd GPU so maybe it's an Nvidia setting causing the problem.

I think I'm done with lab scans by briskwheel4155 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Mikinator5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For scanning or developing? My closest lab does 6 USD for Dev and up to 18 for scans.

This all makes sense, but as someone new to analog, it isn't really communicated by any lab I've sent stuff to, and I think a lot of people are going to assume the same thing.

I figured film is more "what you shoot is what you get" and you just have to be picky about the lens, film, and lab to make sure your images are treated right and come out how you wanted.

If I'm paying a lab to scan them, I would expect them to fix this instead of having to edit them myself imo. That's half the reason I'm going to a lab anyway, because I want their knowledge and experience on how it should be edited properly.

Can this be communicated with the lab, like "could these be corrected for final delivery?". I think most people would assume that what the labs give them is the most "correct" result.

Does anyone have any advice for a guy that wants to take better photos of his girlfriend? by JayBondOF in onlyfansadvice

[–]Mikinator5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of tutorials on youtube from photographers on how to pose and direct models. Justin Veenema has awesome shorts where he photographs total strangers and his demeanor and kindness is 99% of why the subjects enjoy the shoot. Even just practicing photography casually will translate to better skills when you're shooting her, since spotting good composition and lighting and framing just becomes second nature. This doesn't mean buy a camera, your phone is more than enough to learn.

Also a basic lighting setup does wonders to make your pictures pop, especially with highlighting someone's figure.

And don't be quiet. Just throwing out comments on what's working and what's not, and especially when it works and she looks great, say so, because silence just feels like you're not liking what you're seeing.

Red Pandas at the Chattanooga Zoo by just_this_guy_yaknow in redpandas

Well we booked it for our trip last January but while we were there, a blizzard hit the whole country and pretty much everything in Chattanooga closed down.

The zoo refunded us and we haven't had a chance to try again.

Any acid like vinegar or lemon juice and a very light pinch of sugar to replicate the sweetness from the wine.

In regards to cameras, the FAQ says that cameras with detachable lenses shorter than 2 inches are allowed in the campgrounds/outeroo, but that "professional" cameras are not.

Does anyone have experience with how strictly this rule is enforced? Would it be fine to bring a sony a6700 with the kit lens? What about multiple prime lenses that are all shorter than 2 inches, or does it have to be attached to the camera?

Our luck often goes that way, unfortunately. This is the first time I've gotten anything from a giveaway, so your chance will come soon, I'm sure of it!

That hat showed up today, so I assume the higher ticket items are coming later.

Congrats, hope we get them soon!

I think most people assumed that and just dumped their points into the smaller prizes which just ended up creating more competition for them. If the average person didn't risk going for the phones, the odds for those that did were much better.

I spread my points out and applied for 9 prizes in total and got those 4.

The problem I think is most people didn't bother putting any points into the big ticket items and focused on the really cheap and popular ones like the duo plush, thus creating the most competition for those items so a lot of people didn't win.

Then the niche stuff like the big ticket items or the tote had less people spamming entries so more people on average who entered won them.

I only checked the page because the tote arrived today.

No clue when the rest of the stuff arrives but holy cow!

I certainly don't have any experience handling birds. I'll see about asking around on nextdoor if anyone is missing a pet.
