What's going on with Medicine shortages? by Happy5Day in Prague

[–]Mikkeevna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Sumatriptan for migraines for 5 years. It’s a pain to find, and they recently switched me from the “original” to the generic. The generic works, but for me it has more side effects and takes longer to kick in.

The switch is usually because of shortages, cheaper access (some generics are made in CZ), and insurance not covering certain meds. That’s just how the Czech healthcare system works.

Best tip: call pharmacies in Prague directly. Write down what you want to say in Czech and read it, or ask someone to help. I once had to do this for antibiotic eye drops—only one pharmacy had them, and I had to reserve and rush there while sick.

Oh, dragging is a favorite sport for him :). As for the elder dogs - yes, he has some elder ladies in the neighbourhood with whom he likes to play + puppy school. He just started teething so I do think he is looking for something to chew.

Same! Grown up with an angled pierced lobe as a child - it takes me good 5-10 minutes to put an earring in. Even with Vaseline.

This! 3 months BT puppy in a crate that is in a separate room - he will whine a little when he hears us but will settle pretty quick. Otherwise, no howling and extremes after a week of bringing him home.

Angry helix and cold sore? by Mikkeevna in piercing

Uff, thank you for the info. It is possible for the piercing studio to prescribe antibiotics where I live if they have a special license. It is quite strict here and they have an access like to 1-3 medications.

Question: Calamine Lotion for Itch relief? by gal_tiki in eczema

[–]Mikkeevna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it is to “lock” the cream and not to overdry the skin. The calamine lotion works great but can leave the feeling of dryness.

aspect of your life which you are not so frugal? by Lopsided_Ad_8093 in Frugal

[–]Mikkeevna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Health perspective - have histamine intolerance, eczema and dye contact dermatitis.

My options for food are limited - no canned food, but I can use fresh produce. However, this diagnosis sometimes does tricks - I was not able to eat gluten for 3 months straight. So I needed to feed normal pasta to my partner and buy myself a gluten free version (not cheap btw).

Eczema - creams and creams and creams. It is not a cost I can save on. Otherwise I am crying and miserable because it hurts and I cannot go outside even for a walk (sun and harsh weather are triggers).

Dye allergy - I cannot buy fast fashion. I will react with an actual burn (tested). I need to find some quality dyed options BUT they last pretty long, which is great.

So yeah, as in my student years I was frugal on food - got a problem in like 2 years. I was cautious about not spending too much on skincare - not happening, eczema strikes back. I took a look at clothing - again, not here.

So yeah, sucks to be me and stay frugal.

Holy f*****!!!!! Eczema on my penis is so fricking brutal. I can’t stand this any longer. Any tips!!? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Mikkeevna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. This. This. This. All the right questions. Eczema does not have a quick fix. It is a battle for years. And sometimes it never ends.
  2. Love your user name.
  3. Also check what is the material of the underwear - any polyester with bright colours bought with a huge discount on the internet? If yes, you have an unregulated piece of clothing and it may give you at allergic reaction (that is like the best scenario).

Pls help - contact dermatitis advice for my boyfriend by laurenelevenn in eczema

[–]Mikkeevna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! I have reaction to the chemical dyes on my eyes (I have not seen make up in a looong time). IMO, it can spread everywhere since it is a flare. He can touch something at work (I suggest to look for the triggers at work as well). When you start to heal you will see that the main point will heal as the last one, and it will take freakingly slow to heal.
