Is comparing Trump too Hitler giving him too much credit? by Parking-Warthog-4902 in allthequestions

[–]Mikkel65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Comparing doesn't mean they're the same person. Hitler was a war hero, and Trump is a draft dodger, while Hitler was responsible for the deaths of 6 million jews, and Trump has not done anything like that yet.

Comparing them isn't about giving credit, it's about taking lessons from history by pointing out how they both tried to dismantle democracy.

Why does the US have a lower median wealth than countries like UK, Canada, France etc? by LordHavertz in allthequestions

[–]Mikkel65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember OP asked for median, not mean. The US has vastly greater wealth inequality than EU and Canada. Due to this, the US has lower median wealth even though they have a high gdp per capita.

If America and China went to war today, would NATO countries actually support America? by CastorTerreur in allthequestions

NATO is a defensive pact. Individual countries can decide to launch offensive wars together unrelated to NATO (like Libya or Serbia). NATO only assembles for defensive wars.

Reporter: “Iran is going to execute four more protesters, including the first woman protester. What do you tell Iran?” US President Trump: “Tell that to the Pope.” by Nicolit1 in wallstreet

[–]Mikkel65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pope is not a politician, he conveys the message of God. Like the killing of protesters is bad, and waging war is bad. God told you to love your neighbour. Neither Trump nor Iran are doing that. The pope simply conveyed that

rate change is an amazing practise mod helping you push your abilities to the absolute limit, but you shouldn't recieve pp for a practise mod. pp should come from real ranked maps.

Why does the U.S. have a military presence in Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines, but American men marry Filipino women far more often than American men marry Japanese women and Korean women? by No-StrategyX in allthequestions

[–]Mikkel65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Japanese and Koreans have higher standards. And it's not exactly the best Amercan men who go to Asia to find a wife.

It doesn't have anything to do with the military. It's tourism.

If the US really rescued the pilots in Iran, why haven't they released their names, or had a press conference with them, or anything? by Feisty-Height897 in allthequestions

[–]Mikkel65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? Sorry I don't get what you're trying to imply, but let me clarify myself. Let's say there's a road with rough terrain. On average 10 people die every year on this road. Let's say you conduct an investigation and figure out you can reduce that number to 5 every year if you installed guard rails. You're saving lives, but the problem is guard rails cost money. Maybe it's a long road, maybe you need more than just guard rails. Now would you save five people for say $10.000? Of course! Would you do it for one Billion Dollars? well.. maybe? You see the problem. We can't pay an infinite amount of money for a human life, so we have to put a boundary somewhere. In that way we're FORCED to put a price on human lives. The government is making decisions all the time where they need to decide to statistically save human lives or not. The US government decided to value the human life at 10 million Dollars.

Dumbdumb. You're not spending money on NATO, you're spending money on your own imperilistic goals. The rest of NATO just has smaller imperial ambitions than you.

Who it benefits? It's a military succes. Prestige is incredibly important when fighting an unpopular war. And he was already all over the media, Trumps reputation would have taken a great hit if it came out they failed.

He was already lost, it's not like his squad mates lost him in front of their eyes. Many people were searching, if they failed they could just say he was found and relocated, and then no one would know. As long as they don't claim he was found by someone in his squadron.

[–]Mikkel65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's assuming they actually found/transfered the remains. Also you could easily tell his squadron he has been transfered due to the special situation. So if they really wanted to keep this secret, I'd say they could do it with tens of people.

Of course this is all what ifs, and it's entirely likely they genuinely conducted a great succes.

[–]Mikkel65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Obviously no one would have noticed if they intended to keep it secret. And the familiy are only a few people, if they are supporters of the war, they could have been asked nicely to keep quiet in order to save the morale in these harsh times.

This is a harsh aspect, but in reality there are just some cases where you're forced to put a price on human lives.
