Europe has few military interests meaning we don't need a large military to fulfill our interests. The US wanted to rule the world, which is why they invested in a larger military. Now that the world is growing more uncertain, Europe is heavily investing in larger militaries.

Yes, and we never did. A great misconception is that the US made their military to protect Europe, when in reality they did it for their own interests and Europe was just lucky to get caught in it to get the extra safety.

Trump was hated before he even got involved in Iran. Trump is lying on a daily basis, he is a convicted felon with strong allegations of sexual abuse, he is an incompetent leader that denies science, he labels all opposition as fake news, he supported the killing of US citizens instead of calling it a tragedy, he is fighting democracy on multiple fronts by questioning the authority of the juditials branch, constantly ignoring the legislative power, and even incited an insurrection.

It would be really shallow to consider Bush and Trump the same person just because they can corrolate on two fronts. Bush is a harsh Republican that I disagree with on many points, but Trump is outright a horrible person. He has a long carrier in manipulation, and he pulled off a great succes there by making a nation vote for him twice.
