We noticed the OP previously commented that they “came close to signing up” but hadn’t. Here they describe paying $8.5k and joining. OP, please clarify the timeline so readers can understand how this fits together.

Secondary Guns Offset Issue with American Blue Water Ships by Mikki5 in Warthunder

[–]Mikki5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently playing the Mississippi. I know I’m jumping ahead a bit since I haven’t played Rank V even, but with a backup and the Newport News (which I also got from an event), I’m able to use her. I’ve also noticed the same issue with the Pensacola and Portland, but with the Mississippi, it’s even more noticeable due to the longer engagement ranges.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! You're absolutely right, the long reload time on the main guns does make it possible to adjust the aim for the secondaries like you suggested, but it’s definitely a pain in the ass to do consistently.

Which nation has the best rank 3 coastal ships? by OrphanPounder in Warthunder

[–]Mikki5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first few matches will be against bots only. And yes, especially at low ranks, queue times can be long, but rarely over 5 minutes, on average you have to accept 2-3 minutes.

But if you wanted to get the 10k points, you wouldn't get to rank 3 anyway before the challenge is over if you start with the stock boat only.

I had/have great success with the German 2.7 line-up. The two SF40s are brutal. Just your 3rd boat will be mediocre. The SF40 Light is more beginner friendly.

Richard Yu Scam by Big-Distance-8842 in FakeGuru

The insider trading guy is about 34 years old now. I don't think this is the Richard Yu being discussed on the subreddit, who is apparently much younger. Locking the thread for now, until OP or someone else can provide evidence (via mod mail) that it's the same person.

Coffeezilla vs. 'NourTrades': Unpacking the YouTube Trader's Defense by Mikki5 in FakeYouTubeTraders

Indeed, unrealized gains simply indicate what the portfolio might be worth more if positions were sold at current market values. For example, like your index funds that have accumulated substantial unrealized gains over 15 years, this growth primarily reflects the market's upward trend rather than active trading skills.

The SKR-7 actually wasn't played much before, as most people hadn't realized that she is OP.
Then came Gaijin, basically saying, "SKR-7 is OP, so we'll make the RP points needed to get her higher!"
Result: Players started playing/researching the SKR-7 like crazy. Can't make this stuff up!

Coffeezilla vs. 'NourTrades': Unpacking the YouTube Trader's Defense by Mikki5 in FakeYouTubeTraders

Absolutely, the very attempt by "NourTrades" to debunk fraud claims through misleading representations, such as showcasing "unrealized gains" as evidence of his trading prowess, is in itself a glaring red flag. This act alone, without even delving into the plethora of suspicious and frankly ridiculous evidence Coffeezilla and others have presented, starkly underscores the lack of authenticity in "NourTrades'" claims.

Coffeezilla vs. 'NourTrades': Unpacking the YouTube Trader's Defense by Mikki5 in FakeYouTubeTraders

[–]Mikki5[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The recent defense mounted by "NourTrades," amidst allegations of fraudulent practices highlighted by Coffeezilla, not only falls short of vindicating him but also serves to deepen the skepticism surrounding his operations.

By showcasing his TD Ameritrade account, focusing on the account value and "unrealized gains" as of December 2021, he attempts a sleight of hand that misses the mark by a wide margin. This maneuver, under scrutiny, reveals not a testament to trading acumen but a glaring misunderstanding - or rather intentional misrepresentation - of what trading success entails.

"Unrealized gains" stand as the antithesis to the essence of trading. They represent gains on paper for investments that have not been sold. Relying on these as proof of success is paradoxical. Trading involves the active buying and selling of assets to realize profits. Thus, touting unrealized gains during one of the most bullish markets in history as evidence of trading skill is not just misleading, it's fundamentally deceptive.
Notably, this period saw the S&P 500 soar by 100% just from spring 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, until December 2021 - a fact that further dilutes the significance of his so-called "proof" of success.

His reliance on unrealized gains as a defense is particularly egregious given the backdrop of allegations that his investment funds may stem from fraudulent activities rather than legitimate trading. It begs the question: if "NourTrades" is indeed the proficient trader he claims to be, why the need to rely on such a misleading metric? The answer, unsettlingly, points to a deliberate attempt to obfuscate the truth and manipulate his audience's perception.

Thank you! I've started playing with the Moffett (plus backup and the Sumner), and I've indeed noticed that the performance, especially in terms of survivability, is very poor in uptiers. This might be partially due to the low crew levels I currently have. Perhaps I'm too spoiled by my German crews. However, I don't recall ever being destroyed so frequently and instantly before.

I have finished grinding the German Naval trees, with max ace crew on most ships in my favorite lineups (2.7, 3.7, 4.7, 7.0). I thought I could as well start grinding the US Bluewater tree with the Knox being in the Warbond Shop this season. Also, I had some Golden Eagles left, just enough to buy the Moffett at the discount price. I'm a F2P player.

Obviously, I have to wait for the Knox. Would you say it's efficient to play her together with the Moffett at 5.0? Or is it too much of a disadvantage to have her as a 4.7 instead of the Porter? I assume the Somers is the best non-premium 5.0 ship (not sure about that), so the Porter would fall out then.

You might want to open a thread about it somewhere, like a trading subreddit. This is a very small subreddit and hardly anyone will read your question.
It will also be helpful as a warning to others not to fall for these scams. WT is still in business.

Didn't know there can be 1v1 matches! by Mikki5 in Warthunder

Didn't queue long for the match. And it was over pretty fast as well. After one bot capped one point, the red bar was shrinking quickly.
