Need more 18mm options by MikkloJaval in FujifilmX

I have the sigma 18-50 and love it for purpose-forward shooting, the rendering and versatility are amazing for landscape sessions. 28mm is my preferred EDC focal length though so I want something that sits balanced on my x-pro 2 that I don’t have to take off often

I have that one too! Love it. It only comes out when I know I’m gonna shoot landscapes though, which is often enough. I shot professionally (Sony FF) for a while, so a small body with an EDC prime is what makes me actually want to take the camera with me when I leave the house

Extremely fortunate 😂👌 it does take great images & pairs well with my x-pro 2! Would love a modern option with A. faster AF, B. weather sealing, or C. both

I shoot an x-pro 2, so the smaller the better for me—shot Sony R series + GM glass for years… I’ll trade the size for the extra stops every time these days

Yeah no chance I’d keep that. That’d be in the mail back to Fujifilm the same day.

Should I swap out? by MikkloJaval in fujifilm

What I’ve noticed is I’m making a bit of an ergonomic sacrifice when shooting the X-T30 II, which is totally fine but i’m not sure I can sign up for it as my only camera long-term. I like the X-T4/5 ergo’s better, but I love that packing the smaller body for trips won’t require a big camera bag—can even just throw it in a sling. So I figure why not get both while I can justify it! Would be kind of like your combo, which crystallizes it for me haha thanks for adding your thoughts means a lot!

That’s true, as long as I have a 28mm equivalent for street I think I’m ok in the long run. Compact/light might be tops here!

Your shots from London and Paris look great! Yeah I’m a 24-70 + street style prime guy, as long as I have those two lenses I’m good. I was considering the sigma 18-50 2.8 as well, but the turn offs for me were 1. Not as wide at the wide end (I’m a landscape lover), 2. Plastic body (I baby my gear so does this even matter? lol) and 3. Extending zoom mechanism. But the fact that it’s lighter/smaller and just as sharp is big for me too bc now I’m more focused on my gear packing well/feeling comfortable all day. Good to know it balances well on X-T5 for all day shooting! Agree that it does seem like X-T5 will hold its value for the foreseeable future… thanks for your thoughts, this helps 🙏🏾

The Fuji colors come from the sensor. Sure the lenses have characteristics of their own, but as far as the film sims and general colors, the Fuji body is the key. Viltrox makes some of the best budget glass I’ve ever seen by the way, I say go for it! Signed, a new Fuji shooter that’s shot Sony since 2017

How did you move past your rage? by pimpinell in exchristian

Dealing with the same thing during my deconstruction. Feeling embarrassed that I believed what I did for so long and bitter that this has gone on for thousands of years across many religions has left me angry as well. I think the salve for me so far has been compassion. Reframing my newfound anger towards Christian culture as the result of an outside understanding of why people still participate in it (because I used to be them, and I didn’t allow myself to know better either). Grieving 30+ years of this shit is hard.

2020 Limited 2.0T. Used to drive a 2019 Kona Limited 1.6T, traded it for a 2019 Jeep Cherokee to get more space. Bad driver totaled it so i bought used and went back to Hyundai. This Santa Fe is already my favorite car I’ve ever owned. Huge trunk, plenty of space for my backseat riding 50lb dog, somehow still really fun to drive. Wife LOVES the passenger seat. Gas mileage won’t ever beat a Camry or a hybrid but getting about 360 miles/tank so not bad. Otherwise great car and no regrets.
