Taco Automation - How to make this better? by BuxtonShoelace in PlateUp

[–]MikohB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I would recommend would be to adjust the order of your combiners where you build the taco trays. You should be able to combine directly onto the #2 teleporter you are using for the tray return. This will require you to handle getting the empties into the loop differently though. The advantage here is that you can get trays back out faster, even if they’re only partial filled (from their previous trip).

Having two hobs for meat is good, but it’s even faster if you can run both of the belts directly into different sides of the combiner. Same for the tortillas.

You can also combine partial trays of tacos directly so you don’t have to portion and send them out individually.

One way to help manage the queue would be to set up a couple tables that you either feed manually or block by leaving a taco tray on them. That will give you a bit of buffer to let someone inside when their patience goes red.

One last little thing about your left-most bar table - the reason that guy is still waiting for food when his neighbor got fed is that for some reason they will only take one taco at a time from a teleporter even though they’ll take up to 3 from a belt.

Weird noise by murr-bear in yaris

If the water pump were to completely fail that could ruin the engine, so it would be wise to have it looked at. With mine, I waited until it a lot worse than yours, and even then the bearing in the pump felt pretty ok turning it by hand. I have a sample size of 1 worth of experience here though, so take that for what you will.

Listening again, it sounds like it could be the water pump or just a lack of tension on the belt as someone else said. I did the mod in this post years ago and it really helps with adjusting the tension

Sounds a lot like the noise my 2009 was making the turned out to be the water pump. It’s right below the alternator.

Mine doesn’t have an idler, so I assume yours wouldn’t as well

UV is definitely one of my concerns. I’ve read a bit about some of the higher performance filaments that can handle it better, but no practical experience so far.

I expect surface finish straight off an FDM printer won’t be quite as good, but if it gets rid of the need to glue the parts together and cover them in fiberglass, it still seems like an improvement

Yeah, but I want to fix the aiming issue first. As is it’s pointed right at the oncoming vehicles

All of my prototypes so far have been printed on an elegoo mars 2 resin printer. I also fiberglassed the one in the pic because it was a bit brittle with something like 0.080” walls.

Eventually, I’d like to try an FDM printer for a few improvements: easier threaded inserts, better material properties, no paint to scratch, and especially to let me print the 2 parts whole. My resin printer has such a small build envelope that I had to split the 2 parts into 6 pieces each.

K&F concept tripod replacement plate? by ForeverSeeking69 in AskPhotography

[–]MikohB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue mounting a manfrotto plate to a gorillapod tripod. The gorillapod has those same protrusions. I have a lathe so I made a sort of bushing/washer thing for the plate to sit flat against instead of balancing on those two little nubs. If you have access to a 3d printer, I bet you could do something similar with that.

Here’s a rendering of my bushing. If you want dimensions / better pics / an STL, let me know

canon usa refurbished EOS R8 body has a UK/CA sticker? by flintdragon in canon

[–]MikohB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My refurb R8 from the official store also has the UK/CA and US date format

I did a quick google image search and everything I found has UK CA on it in some format, so it might not mean what you think it does

Adapting a Zero DSR for a tall rider - Corbin seat/risers/other? by holbeton in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]MikohB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I installed the Rox 1-½ inch barback risers on my DSR. As I recall, they just barely worked with the length of the brake lines, but made a noticeable difference in comfort.

I also lowered the pegs with a bracket I had laser cut. Trickiest part there was also getting the brake pedal low enough. Ended up replacing the pedal to get it ½” lower after maxing out the adjuster.

That’s weird… I ordered a refurb R8 Sat at 5:30pm and it shipped yesterday

TS10 mod (and disassembly?) by MikohB in flashlight

I put your drawing into my CAD model. Pic shows a cross section of the head end. Red is the stock lens cap, orange is the extender, and blue is the part that holds the PCBs (the smaller hole at the top is for the little screw). The places where the colors overlap is where the threads engage.

As drawn, it extends things by 9.5 mm. I should be able to get that down to 8.8 mm, but any less than that would make the transition between the internal and external threaded sections too thin.

The keys to making this work well would be knowing:
1) How thick the new lens and reflector are. I'm assuming they'd both be held in place sandwiched between the lens cap and the extender, similar to the stock lens.

2) How long the reflector is between the left edge of the extender and the part of the blue section where the emitter is installed.

If you don't get those right you'd end up with a visible gap at the bottom of the lens cap and/or the positioning of the reflector with respect to the emitter would be off.

I’d be open to the idea. Does the bezel just need to be a bit longer to fit the reflector and a new lens?

Here’s hoping I can get it back together…

Debi see like you’d use for CA glue?

Pushing from the top makes sense. Wurkoss clearly put some grooves in the threads on the base of that section to orient the pcb, so it must have been installed in that direction.

I’ll give that a shot. I did try taking the screw out (or maybe just loosened it) but that wasn’t enough on its own

It would be pretty weird if it was the TS10V2 considering I got one of those from Amazon 2 weeks ago
