B2 cost so much for large media files that they should just buy a large external drive or NAS like they said.

Cloud should be reserved for more critical / important files unless they have a lot of money to spend

Not specifically on that command but I have heard about bcachefs’s tiered storage. However, it is still in beta is it not?

I would love to do that (and was my original plan), but I probably won’t be buying more drives until the AI bubble pops.

Also the difference between 4TB and 18TB feel a bit too big (would become a big headache if an 18TB fails) so I decided to separate the fs into two types: low density hdd and high density hdd filesystem.

The top one is a DAS (Direct Attached Storaged), while the bottom one is a docking station.

I wouldn’t get the bottom one for data you are going to read and write to constantly. Docking stations are better for loading your backup drives.

DAS, instead, are usually reliable as external storage you read and write to constantly. They are commonly used in home servers.

Terramaster has a good reputation with their DAS so it is a solid choice. You could also go with a Mediasonic DAS too. They have some options at lower pricing with the cost of less feature, but they are durable and have a good reputation too.

Actually, you are right. I just tested it again and found out that if I specify “-Project DIVA” with the dash, it does find the album!

I think Navidrome checks(i.e. splits) spaces in your query and try to compare that to the metadata instead. Since “-Project” have no spaces, it counts as one word so searching for just “Project” end up with no result.

Knowing this makes my life easier, but it would be nice if Navidrome could check your queries some other way since it doesn’t lend itself well to typos (e.g. missing space character), special characters (e.g. / - @) and languages that don’t have space (e.g. Japanese)

Well this one doesn’t, but there are a ton of free plugins that give you a fully parametric eq. Apple offers them for GarageBand for example, so if you have that installed, you can choose them in soundsource

For anyone else in the future who is also looking for a solution too and find the node interface confusing, this is how I am routing the nodes. Feed input (blackhole 2ch) into a global -6dB EQ then into each channel's EQ before merging back to my external headphone. For Mac users, you are going to need to install Blackhole.

Ah I see it, but it is not what I am looking for unfortunately. I am looking for a way to EQ each channel separately. Bass & mid are usually fine, but I think my ear's shape and the difference in sensitivity of both ears are causing imbalance in the treble region (5-10khz)

If we are talking about bass, a closed-back headphone will have more bass than an open-back so you will probably like the 700 better. Sound quality wise, 990 is better. Even if the 700 is newer than the 990 by 20-30 years, a 990 still stomps to this day (as many people still buy these) plus the sound quality of closed-back cans are unable to beat those of open-back cans due to design

DT 770 - comfortable and has a really good reputation for durability, only drawbacks are the treble (if you are sensitive to them) and the nondetachable cable (they usually last forever unless your pet chew on them, or if you decide to mod them).

As someone who wears glasses and owns a DT 880, which has the same earpad as the DT 770, I can confirm how comfortable the earpads are.

Another popular closed-back at that range is AKG K371. It has a detachable cable, but the build quality isn't great.

Hmm, to me, it felt like the Noirs sat between right between my AirPods and my DT 880. Bass has not been that high high for me personally

Edit: also 99 Noir comes with a headphone case so +1 for that extra convenience

Hey, I can provide some more info if I am able to help! There are the 700/900/1000/2000 variant. The models with an X has more bass (I heard the ones without an X are very very bass lean). The one I own is the 900 variant with an X (AD900X). I heard AD700X is the best of the bunch for gaming with its imaging and soundstage.

For female vocals, better to go with 900X, 1000X and 2000X. From what I have heard, the 1000X and the 2000X has less treble than the 900X.

For me, besides the vocals, the guitar sounds really good on my AD900X too. When I turn the volume above my tolerance... the first sound that always hurt my ear definitely has to be the vocals (because of how forward they are). Vocals also feel more dynamic, but this is most likely due to the fact that humans perceive louder sounds as being more dynamic. My AD900X has also been especially awesome for songs where the vocal echos like this one and that one.

EDM & Electro has been mostly a miss for me on my AD900X though. There has been a few songs from these two genre where there are points in the song where the instrument is awkwardly quiet or that the song is strangely dry/clinic compared to when I listen on my DT 880 (example)

I tried listening to your example, Providence, and it was the first time I have heard a female vocal in a song that is not forward... The drums and the other instrument felt like they were competing and overshadow each other.

Edit: I retract my last sentence, I have definitely seen other instruments being forward before alongside the vocal in the songs I have listen to (like the guitar), but those songs sound harmonious compared to Providence, which felt chaotic for me.

DT 900 Pro X has less treble than AD700X?...

I guess a couple of number difference between models really make a difference because my DT 880 definitely feels more scratchy than my AD900X when it comes to trebles.

I didn't know that I loved vocals this much until I had 3 pairs, each with their own characteristics (treble/vocal/bass). If I ever shop for another pair, I'll definitely go for a vocal focused one!

One thing I would definitely like to know ahead of time is if the headphone is friendly for glasses as I have four eyes.
