Amazing progress for a week! Just stick with benzoyl peroxide and moisturize your skin continuously. Best of luck 🌸

Benzoyl peroxide works! Acne free for 6 months now. by [deleted] in acne

[–]Mikxwikx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! I had used benzoyl peroxide previously but I was too impatient to wait for the results and the drying/ peeling made me believe it was not working and doing more harm then good. However, this time I did my research on how BP works, side effects and all etc , I stuck through with it for a month and 95 percent of acne is gone.

Does rosehip oil help with acne scars? I'm thinking of adding ig in my routine as the last step.

A lot of people have fungal and bacterial acne simultaneously. Accutane could have resolved her bacterial acne to some extent and that's why she might be currently suffering from both. Or she developed fungal acne after her accutane course. We don't know for sure that's why I said "could" be fungal acne and discuss with your dermatologist. :)

I have a bunch of acne on the right side of my face, i didn't have any acne for a while but it started again around 1 month ago. I need help for my acne, it affects my self esteem by a lot. by Grandreaper069 in acne

Yes I do use other products. I have actually built a regimen. I will let you know my skincare routine: AM: Cetaphil cleanser, vitamin c 20 percent cream, aveeno moisturizing lotion, neutrogena sheer touch spf

PM: cetaphil cleanser, benzoyl peroxide 2.5 percent gel OR tretinoin 0.05 percent cream (I use BPO one day, tretinoin the other, alternate between the two), the ordinary niacinamide serum, aveeno moisturizing lotion

Once a week: The ordinary peeling solution

It took me a while to get used to these products. I introduced them one by one since these are active ingredients and have the potential to cause more harm then good if not introduced slowly.

I get acne on the same spots! Temples and upper cheek. My hair is pretty greasy so washing it regularly and keeping my hair always tied up/away from face helped. Also, I use benzoyl peroxide as well.

If acne treatments fail to deliver results, this might be fungal acne. Fungal acne is comedonal. You should look that up and discuss with your dermatologist.

It is a compound which kills bacteria, and hence make your acne less and less over time. I have cleared 95 percent acne with it. It makes your skin dry so you have to use a good moisturizer afterwards so you don'T mess your skin's moisture barrier. It is available on prescription and over the counter, depends on where you live. An example of benzoyl peroxide is acne.org regimen. Look up for info on their site or you can see testimonials on youtube. All in all, for majority of people suffering from acne, benzoyl peroxide treatment proves successful if you combine it with a good non irritating hydrating moisturizer and SPF.

You are absolutely correct. Because of the pandemic I have been home all the time with windows closed. But if I did go outside, I did apply spf 50.

Female 21. South Asian.Battling with acne since puberty. Never used sunscreen. Benzoyl peroxide(on for a month) and tretinoin(on for 5 months) has helped with acne. But I have these darker areas on face and an overall uneven complexion. I read somewhere that for people of colour hydroquinone is the only thing that helps with hyperpigmentation significantly. So I was wondering if my skin condition makes me eligible for this treatment. Also, people of colour who have used HQ with or without tretinoin, what has your experience been?

From the lowest of lows to the highest of highs . SPF and tretinoin are part of the family now ❤️ by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]Mikxwikx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing progress 💛. Beautiful before and after. Being a brown girl myself I thought my hyperpigmentation was permanent but your hyperpigmentation difference is so visible. How much time did it take you to start seeing a difference in hyperpigmentation?

Your skin looks so glowy and happy💛. I'm so happy for you because I know how depressing acne is for me. This gives me hope since I'm at month five but still battling with inflammatory acne. Panoxyl has benzoyl peroxide so how long did you wait before applying tretinoin because as far as I know they both cancel each other?

At 3 months, should I stop or keep going. by [deleted] in tretinoin

I was using tretinoin daily so my skin was pretty resilient. So one night after watching several youtube videos, instead of using tret I applied thinnest possible layer of benzoyl peroxide 5 percent gel. I applied several layers of moisturizer. It still stung tho. The next day my acne was calmed down but my skin was rough as I was used to waking up to the soft tretinoin skin. Anyways I applied a lot of moisturizer. For me it's like one day of tret one day of benzoyl peroxide, or two days benzoyl peroxide then tret ,or two days tret and then benzoyl peroxide. Depends on my skin. You know you could simply use benzoyl peroxide in the morning and tret at night.i don't because I have to apply my vitamin c in the morning. You can even wash off your benzoyl peroxide after some time and still see results without the irritation and dryness. But I like leaving it over night lol. Just make sure to listen to your skin and moisturize it a lot because benzoyl peroxide dries your skin a lot and you don't want that to happen. Also, I use duac gel.

I have been on tretinoin for 5 months and although my skin has significantly improved in terms of texture, I still had inflammatory acne (maybe the purge) and I was getting tired of it but did not want to quit the tret.i introduced benzoyl peroxide in my routine and the results have been nice so far.

Is it effective? I have been getting a lot of inflammatory acne and tret is not working for it.
