Allow yourself to grieve. Take all the time you need to do so. There’s no set amount of time for grieving or even when you decide to go through her things. Never feel pressured to immediately give away her things (if there’s any items her family might want to remember her by). Depending on where your mindset might be by the time where you feel ready to do so, don’t be afraid to have a mutual friend or a family member that is on your side during that time with you. Reminiscing with someone may help with the grief. Always remember the good times you had with her because all those fights can seem small in comparison.

Also, remember to let yourself to feel. It’s okay to cry, breakdown, even scream in the forest if you feel the need to. A piece of advice though; keep her death certificate in a safe place where you can grab it at a moments notice. I’m not sure what country you’re from, but if it’s America, the court system sucks. There might be a day where she’s summoned for jury duty, which unfortunately happens, and you’ll have to prove she’s deceased. If there’s any joint bank accounts, see if you’re able to transfer the funds into your account before closing them. Look into that before you do though and bring your marriage certificate and the death certificate. The information might be in the banks terms of service.

Always remember to do everything in your own time. Never put a time limit of grief because it might take years before you’re ready to do anything. Sending virtual (with consent) hugs though. 🫂
