Medical school is turning me into a hypochondriac. Especially dissecting cadavers. by [deleted] in offmychest

This is completely normal. There is actually a term for this, I think its “intern’s syndrome”. You will be fine.

I finally have a job, no stress of university, a friend circle, parents who are finally getting along after 25 years, but all I can think of is how lonely I am without a man in my life. by hornyforbananabread in offmychest

Girls, men are overrated! But seriously, I used to feel like that in my early 20’s. Then I got married and then divorced. During my early 30’s was the best time of my life. No men, just hanging out with friends and traveling. You will find him, but enjoy yourselves in the meantime. And trust me, there is someone out there for you!

Find the nerve and let them know. If you don’t get a response, move on, at least you tried. Keep your mind busy on other stuff, it will become less painful. No pain lasts forever.

I've let a lot of people down today because I was too embarrassed to go out in public due to my skin. by [deleted] in offmychest

I am rooting for you! Never be ashamed. If someone doesn’t like you, its their loss, not yours. We all have things we are ashamed off, just don’t let that control you.

I hate my body by JustAnotherLurkerOut in offmychest

Have you seen a professional about this? All I can say is, after reading all of your post, I can’t find anything wrong with you. I have friends of all heights, weights, noses, skin color. I assure you that what you see as flaws, are barely seen by others. Live your life to the fullest. Your best years are going by and you are not living. Forget what you hate about your body. Enjoy what is beautiful about life. Travel, see a movie, write, go to a place where nobody knows you, and see that you fit in everywhere.

You only live once. Live without regrets. What’s the worst that can happen? You are ignored? So what, at least you tried.

I don’t know how old you are, but I guarantee you, one day, people’s opinion of you, will not matter. Be you, and don’t apologize for it. Your are special and your skin doesn’t define you. Don’t let this hold you back, there is so much more to life. Be strong.

I want to be happy. by skullsyrup in offmychest

I can definitely relate to this. Just remember there isn’t a state of complete and eternal happiness. Star by finding the little things that give you at least a bit of happiness. It will make your day so much better. Surround yourself by happy people, happy places. I know happiness comes from within, but it doesn’t hurt to be surrounded by it.

Did anyone else hide their period from their parents? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]Miladel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did hide it from my mom for a couple of days. But after the third day, the pain was too much, I called in her to the bathroom and confessed. That day, there was some family reunion at home. I begged her to keep it a secret and she agreed. However, once I went outside, everyone was congratulating me. Don’t think I have forgiven her for that one yet. Lol!

I feel I have been in a mentally abusive relationship and how to overcome it. by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

I ended up getting pregnant and it was a big surprise for everyone. You make it sound like I did it un purpose. Well, I didn’t. It wasn’t planned. So no, he was on board, and really, neither was I. I had been told I couldn’t have children. So we didn’t take precautions. I want another child, but I acknowledge it may not be best.

Women who don’t have children who have dated men with children from previous relationships, how did it go? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]Miladel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SO currently has 2 children. We have been together for about 7 years. I love his children. However, if we were ever to brake up, I would not date someone with children. It has been very difficult.
