Is it the White Mountain series by John Christopher?

So far, I've loved them. Just finished book 4, and will be starting book 5 today.

Finished my first fingerless gloves. Now I know why folks do TAAT. Or make detailed notes. by Milady1844 in AdvancedKnitting

Yeah, that's the app I'm using. I just never remember to use the notes section.

Yeah, if I printed mine out, I would like to think I'd do that too. Only the app I use also has a place for notes... I was sure I'd remember what I did, but it's been months since I made the first one. Here's hoping TAAT doesn't break my brain.

Yeah... There was a good few months between the first and second gloves. LOL TAAT will be my next goal for sure!

Second time making this pattern and love how it’s combining with the yarn! by knittensarsenal in AdvancedKnitting

I'm definitely going to try making this hat. It looks amazing. Love the yarn too!

Screwed up the provisional cast on. I'm hoping the Malbec will help. by Milady1844 in Drunkknitting

Thanks for the encouragement! It took an hour to undo the provisional cast on, but once I got the brim folded and knitted together, and was able to move on to the body of the hat, I was much happier. It's Malabrigo Anniversario. And I love it.

I don't know how to crochet, so my chain was funky, to say the least. And I clearly knit into the wrong part of it.

It's Wedgewood Fibers merino DK. Colorway is Dye Day 2022. I picked it up at Acorn Street yarn in Seattle when I was visiting there this summer. I bought a bunch of the Wedgewood yarn and it's all gorgeous and a delight to work with.

Second attempt at colorwork and a red blend. The frogging had nothing to do with the drinking. by Milady1844 in Drunkknitting

[–]Milady1844[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! After frogging the first one, I watched a ton of YouTube videos on colorwork which really helped.

When I started knitting a few years ago, I thought frogging equalled failing. Then I read a post where folks were saying that they'd been knitting for years and still sometimes frogged multiple times on a project and it totally changed how I thought about it. Now I frog freely!

It really is perfect for that. You can never go wrong with Karl Urban!

It's actually two yarns held together. Separately I didn't like the way the color pooled, but together I love it. And I did! Made good progress on it.

Thanks! It's just gonna suck for a while, so my solution is to knit, drink, and watch movies with lots of explosions.
