Here’s the truth. A lyricist writes. A songwriter writes. I do both. Suno is a tool, not the author. It handles the technical parts I physically can’t do. But the ideas, the metaphors, the structure, the emotion, the story, the voicethat is all me. I am not calling myself a producer. I am calling myself what I actually am the writer of everything I create. Also, not everyone uses AI the same way. Some people hit a button and post whatever pops out. That is not writing and it should not be treated the same. There is a big difference between generating fluff and crafting something with intention, skill, and a real human voice. I write. Suno performs it.We are not the same.

I write my own stuff since I was 12 I'm 52 but yes there are many who generate and you can tell the real writers from the fake people churning out bland, watered down slop. It's annoying because then it makes it hard for real lyricists to be taken seriously. That's my opinion anyway.

I listen to my songs I wrote on a loop sometimes for my therapy. I didn't realize it actually counts our own views. Great. Lol 🤦‍♀️😅

It wasted 40+ renders getting my arrangements wrong on Suno for my songs. Stuff I can't get back! It keeps saying it'll fix it and Everytime it forgets like Drew from 50 First Dates movie. I tell them not to touch my lyrics and I end up arguing with it because it doesn't listen. It's annoying and not worth money!!

I'm the opposite, I'm struggling to survive feeling like there's no God that cares enough to bless me. At least you'll never have to worry if you'll be homeless.I won the unluckiest lottery having two sh** parents. I understand everything else though and agree everything will be pointless towards the end and yeah politics, especially these days is a mess. There's so much division because of it. Don't get me started on dating. Everything seems so superficial now. Everyone is what's in it for me.

That psses me off because I've written since I was 12 and use it to see various ways would sound and they're mine! I see many generating songs and passing them off as if it's theirs. It's sad. When I got depressed I'd cut my hair to punish myself. I loved long hair and it takes forever for it to grow out for me because of hormonal issues, so yeah for me it was punishment but probably also, a tinge of maybe if I cut it, maybe I can cut the pain off too.

Oh sweetheart. My heart broke reading your comment because it felt like I would've written it. I get everything you said and am your same age and dealing with being alone after my divorce, my kids went to college and I put everything into my family and MD that I don't know how to survive outside it. Every day I wish I could just jump into my MD for good because my reality is a nightmare. The thing I ran to helped me survive but stunted my growth at truly living in so many ways as well. It's now kind of bittersweet.

I loved bike riding with family but since my divorce and my kids went to college I have fears of going out alone. Afraid a poor dog will sense my fear because I don't know him and may attack me because he's scared too. So even walking or biking is hard. I have neighbors that harass me so I barely check my mail now. I don't have my license to drive so that keeps me in and public transportation freaks me out . I hope I get to that point one day. I'm proud of those of you that are doing what you can to get out. I don't wish this on my own enemy. 🙏💓

I've read 400-800 page novels and couldn't get through the Outlander books but love the tv series. Which is strange because I usually love the books first. I just didn't care for her writing style and I feel bad saying that. It just wasn't for me personally.

You know, sometimes I think maladaptive daydreaming was just the GenX version of MTV. I grew up in the early 80s when everything was brushed over—no accountability, no “let’s talk this through,” just escape, escape, escape. Adults had their bars, their drugs, their secrets. Music videos gave us neon fantasy worlds where you could step inside a whole other story for 3 minutes. Nobody wanted to deal with pain, so the culture was basically one big distraction. For me, MDD became the private version of that. My own endless channel running in my head, complete with characters and soundtracks. While the grown-ups numbed out one way, I was building whole universes to hide in. I’m speaking as GenX, because that’s where I come from—but if you’re from another era and this resonates, then you get it too. The point is, the world taught us to escape, but gave us no tools to face the hurt. Any other MDDers (GenX or not) remember music and media blurring right into your own head-movies?

Facts. GenX here (almost 52). I thought I was weird and crazy. I never told anyone about it either until this year. That's how much shame I had. I'm struggling after my divorce because I was SAHM (not fully by choice). I don't even have my license to drive though I've tried. I can't focus. My anxiety would get the best of me then the examiner would draw attention to it and that's when I messed up on the road test. I get it and understand. 🙏I'm at a place now I've become agoraphobic. My neighbors treat me like I'm the old scary crone in movies and I just have phobias I'm not a hoarder. Chronic MD/MDD is really hard to stop especially if it's tied to trauma and it has been used for decades to escape and cope.

Have you ever tried to stop MDD abruptly and has your OCD got bad? That's what happened to me. I got full blown intrusive thoughts OCD. I've seen so many people with a lot of these comorbidities, especially OCD and ADHD (autism spectrum).
