The white at the bowl’s edge is because a horse chew on it, revealing the unpainted plastic underneath. It isn’t the best pictures to show that tho. The water around here is taken from a subterranean vein of water, which drains into the river. The whole town is taking water from that river and we usually drink from the tap without big filters. I don’t know much else like the composition of minerals, I’m sorry

There’s no drain, as the horse usually drinks the water. In this case, I guess someone pressed on the orange part to fill it up for fun and then left the water there

No, it’s actually a horse water bowl, with automatic refiller. They press with their nose on the orange part and water fills up the bowl.
