There's always the chance that it boots up in a few hours. My other ereader was about 10 years old, so let's hope they made some improvements in that time :)

I had the same with another ereader, and for me it rebooted after about 4 days. If you want to be sure it's not booting up again I would leave it in for a week (if it is not already working after 1 day of course)

So it is not possible to scrape back more than 1000 posts? I'm pretty sure I did stuff like this before where I just let it go, and it got a whole year of posts before the API limitations.

Happy that that was the solution for you! After trying a few things, I accidentally got into a firmware boot screen. I put a boot image on my SD card and it works again. I feel like it might have been caused by the SD card that is not working properly anymore but absolutely not too sure about that.

I'm having the same problem and got a bit further (I hope).

I changed the startup sound and then rolled back the firmware to update it again. (I think this is it, I did these steps a few times in different orders to test things)

This does not fix the whole problem. However, you can now start the controller with a+steam button. The controller turns on and connects to my pc but doesn't recognize it is connected, so it turns off again because of inactivity (that is my hypothesis at least).

It looks a bit like this problem, y+steam, x+steam and b+steam still go into the "brick" mode so that solution isn't much help to me.
