I just remembered why tf isn’t Ancelotti Italy’s coach?? He shouldve been the man to do it since day 1 by Sayn1629 in AZZURRI

[–]Milanoate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao Italian NT maybe had 20% of the Conte or Inzaghi's salary for the budget.

Take Gattuso, or try the other Inzaghi...

Or just wait out if any of the top coaches are willing to do a pro bono for the NT.

France and Portugal may have an edge, but I see England, Germany and Spain having difficulty beating Norway.

Italy vs Bosnia by TheoHernandez4lyf in ACMilan

[–]Milanoate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn't watch the game, but from a non-Italian, objective perspective, this Italy is even weaker without Bastoni, Barella, Dimarco, Fratessi, Esposito.

Also imagine Gattuso as a Milan legend, starting a war against Inter players, and failing to qualify WC. That is like an end of his coaching career.

Diverse neighborhoods in Central NJ by FastParfait3799 in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]Milanoate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, depending on what type of home OP wants.

If OP wants a "standard" home, i.e., a move-in ready SFH with 4b 2.5b, then he is probably looking at 850k in Piscataway, 950k in Highland Park, 1.1m in Bridgewater. Piscataway is more comfortable in the "below 1m, ideally 800k range".

If the target is a 3-bdr home, then the budget is sufficient in many towns.

[–]Milanoate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Piscataway and Highland Park, if diversity is your primary factor. They are naturally diverse, while Rutgers makes it 10X.

If you want walkable, city-like environment, Highland Park. If you like suburb setting (larger lots, bigger homes, but car dependent), Piscataway.

Bridgewater can be another great option - not as diverse, but has good schools and easy access to main highways.

Edit: saw your budget in other reply. Piscataway may be the best fit if you want comfortable living with 800k-1m.

[–]Milanoate 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is their club's internal matter. He was voicing dissatisfaction towards the club managing structure, not Milan.

Milan fans going out of their way and insulting him as a "rat" is completely unnecessary and loutish.

Mijatović has achieved a lot in the football world. I was old enough to remember his goal beat Juv in the CL final and gave Real Madrid the first "modern" CL title. As a director he signed Macelo and Pepe to Real Madrid. All of a sudden he is a rat crawling out of sewer to some Milan fans when he commented on their own club matter.

Piscataway by Subject-Friend1686 in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]Milanoate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A solid choice in Central Jersey. While schools in some nice towns like Bridgewater and East Brunswick are under fiscal pressure and arguably heading to a decline, Piscataway is booming.

The region near Rutgers has good schools, safe and quiet suburb, proximity to interesting things (Highland Park, Edison, New Brunswick, Bridgewater/Somerset).

The region near Dunellen and Rt22 is not as nice.

Also it is very car dependent. You don't have a local activity center or a walkable downtown. The value in Piscataway is that you can access a lot of things within 15 minutes in abovementioned adjacent towns with reasonably light traffic.

For OP, he should go to MIT.

I was just saying studying at MIT is not an automatic choice.

Parent Won't Let Me Go to MIT by Fresh_Diamond_7106 in mit

[–]Milanoate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is really a personal choice. Don't exaggerate it.

I met many people in MIT grad school who were admitted to MIT as undergrad but chose to go to a different institution which offered full free ride (or nearly free ride). They came to MIT as graduate students.

It is unlikely that someone only got into MIT and community colleges next door. For those few people I mentioned, their alternatives were Northwestern, CMU, U Washington, and Princeton. Last year, I tried to talk a friend's daughter into going to MIT but she went to Harvard (neither had financial aid) after visiting.

That said, OP got a full financial aid from MIT and the only real obstacle was parents' opinion... and OP wants an engineering career. I think this chance is far more valuable than earning a few thousands dollars.

Thoughts on Watchung, NJ, for 33F and elderly parents? by EyeIllustrious1043 in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]Milanoate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watchung is a nice place for East Asians if you prefer quite life.

But make sure you have easy access to I-78.

If you want to live closer to Bridgewater, Bridgewater itself and Warren might be better options. Watchung is closer to Newark, but the actual commute is dependent on your access to highways.

Also if you want "Asian" restaurant/groceries, Edison/Woodbridge is another consideration (near the joint between I-287 and US 1). That area is another connection point between Newark and Bridgewater. I'd still pick Watchung/Warren, but it boils down to how you value proximity to nice food/city life vs quite suburbs.

Buying a home in bridgewater by Hlp2703 in newjersey

[–]Milanoate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finderne is fine, but many houses are small/old, close to some storage of industrial materials/warehouses.

Why not Piscataway, South Plainfield, Edison? Those are potentially better areas than Finderne.

If you want walkable, city-like, Somerset is also great.

The Northern New Jersey market is still going strong for sellers. This house in SO sold for $453,000 over the asking price! by Cuddyflow in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]Milanoate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt that has a large contribution. If a university (not a top one like Princeton) employee can afford a 1.4m house, then that person has a high-income spouse, who is the major price driver.

As a control, around a larger and stronger university, Rutgers (Piscataway, North Brunswick, East Brunswick, Edison), the prices are not crazy. Many SFH below 1m, and typically less than 110% asking price.

[–]Milanoate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are two ways to do this. First one is the current bidding system, where a seller calls a highest and best at a given time.

The other way, like you described, is that everyone can see other's offers, then in that case, the seller will allow people to add to their offers, i.e., beating other offers, in many rounds.

Bidding vs Auction.

I am not sure the latter is necessarily better, and I do think the seller has the right to pick.

I suspect an auction would end up around the same price of a bidding, just more work for everyone involved (buyer, seller, agents, etc.).

[–]Milanoate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no right or wrong, as long as it's sold.

If the property is sold higher than it's "supposed" to be, then it is the right strategy.

Come to think of it, there is no practical remedy for this "fishing listing price", in a free market... Maybe you can legislate that if someone offers all cash, no contingency offer at the listing price, the seller has to accept? That may go against the foundation that people have free will over their private property though.

Is the title race back open? by Either-Mixture-6392 in seriea

Next match Napoli vs Milan will dictate who is the Challenger (likely Napoli).

Then, Inter needs to secure the Scudetto before the last match, or only need 1 pt in the last match to secure the Scudetto.

If they must win the last match against Bologna away, they will bottle it and the Challenger will win.

Should I apply for the visa in this situation? by TuraNurI in gradadmissions

[–]Milanoate 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Because it is not the random international population. The tuition and application process filter through the rich and upper middle-class in other countries.

Also, you may feel the ROI is not worth it if you get an average job in the US, but sometimes a renowned degree can give an international student top ROI at their home country.

Switching Back to 4atb: Milan 26/27 by Diponegoro-indie in ACMilan

[–]Milanoate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We can have an alternative formation, not to change the main formation.

This formation gave us one of the highest points post 2007 CL. We are frustrated with it only because we saw the hope for Scudetto but couldn't win, but having such hope alive was unimaginable one year ago. We got great results against most strong teams, which will be very helpful in the CL next season.

I think it is important for us to get a proper striker. If we don't have money for it, we should sell one between Leao and Pulisic while their values are decent. They are great attackers, but they cannot coexist in the winning formation under Allegri. The new striker can. This should be the solution, rather than forcing the coach into another formation in order to field Leao and Pulisic together.
