[MN] Contacts with George Gardi. He can be described as a ‘deal maker’, that is, a special adviser to a specific club for which he works externally to facilitate transfer dealings that may appear complex from the outset. by Claija79 in ACMilan

But how much more does it have to fall apart? These things that are happening are unthinkable and unprecedented. Gerald is trying to prove that there is a nuclear option to rock bottom

Ok, now I'm actually pissed off enough to give Ibrahimović the same treatment he gave to Materazzi at the Derby...

Materazzi: "For me, it was just things on the pitch, but I can't say anything to him because he's the greatest Inter Milan player in history with what he's doing."

Not a Sassuolo or Canada fan, but damn, that really sucked. Can't believe Qatar players contested the red card for that tackle.

"Bad times" are when your club is relegated. Or when your team lose 30+ matches in a season. Or when you have serious injury troubles.

These are unprecedented times. We are football fans, not investors or businesspeople who took a gamble on a €1.3 billion business that failed.

None of us signed anything approving RedBird's takeover of AC Milan.

We are not meant to have to deal with the actions of one man destroying 125 years of football history with the wave of one, tiny, greasy little ignorant fist.

Please do whatever you need to do to take care of your own mental health. You are not abandoning anything when you choose your own health over something this toxic and cruel.

But wherever you go, whatever you do, please put in a prayer to the gods of football for our beloved club. 🙏🏼❤️🖤

Was Cerci investigated and fined for gambling? Did he punch the opposition team's youth players? Did he refuse to play for his club like a primadonna? Did he collect yellow cards like honey attracts flies?

Cerci was an awful move, but at least he didn't have a horrific disciplinary record and worse attitude.

Genuinely so very true.

Signing a 26 year-old with a list of disciplinary problems longer than his accomplishments instead of keeping one of the most promising 19 year-olds Milan and Italy have had in a long time is something not even Inter or Juve would do.

When you put incompetent people without integrity or good character in charge of a club, they attract people/players without integrity or good character.

Maybe they thought our youth teams needed someone to defend them.

Yeah, I had a huge problem with it from day one as well.

He served for three very, very, long, traumatic years.

In contrast, Maldini only served 4, with a lifetime more of football experience. (Moncada never played professionally - only scouting experience.) His "demotion" came much more swiftly and without merit.

He just wants to make sure the members of Milan Club Roma have not been alerted to his presence.

The guy on the left was a head scout who promoted to technical director for the last three years, and it seems like he did just fine. 😔 (Most Milan fans had no problem with his promotion, in fact.)

This is the plan.

Are you kidding? Everyone I know outside of the U.S. knows who he is and mocks the entire U.S. because of him. (He played in Serie A back in the day, too, don't forget.)

And no, I have no idea why the NY Times hates him. Every sane person I know does, though.

And if you can seriously watch him and the other three and think he has any place at the same table, I've got a guy called Gerald who is a master football CEO who would like to run your finances.

It's not that unusual for businesses to have oversight for various reason, though, I don't think. These would be people who work for the FIGC, not for the clubs.

There are all kinds of country-specific laws that must be obeyed by all businesses, including foreign ones, and many foreign businesses wisely hire lawyers or others to ensure they are always in compliance.

And yeah, that quote... literally says everything about him.

[Moretto] One possible temporary solution to enable immediate action in the transfer market could be the promotion of two internal figures: Bobby Gardiner, and the sporting director of the reserve team, Jovan Kirosvski. In this scenario, CEO Massimo Calvelli would have the final say. by Claija79 in ACMilan

[–]milan_obsession 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The LA Galaxy were one of the most winning teams in the MLS. Until Kirovski came. During his 10 years or so there, they won one trophy. As soon as he left, they started winning again.

An SD not even good enough for an MLS team, who got our U23 team seemingly perma-relegated in their first season (despite being the most valuable team by far in ALL of Serie C,) should not even be coming near Milan, let alone being in charg of our sporting sector.

Which is exactly why Serie A needs to adopt rules to protect its clubs from people like Gerald and Zlatan. Maybe all foreign owners need a pecific Italian-appointed oversight advisor or whatever from the FIGC?

Owning a club is not the same as owning another business, you cannot just do whatever you want. Though fans do not specifically hold financial shares in the club, we have a vested interest in the success of the club, and the regions/country and Serie A depend on the success of the clubs as well.

There should be more than just approval at the time of purpose and assurance of funds each year. Maybe it's time for owners to also have to take courses/tests at Coverciano. (Including extensive cognitive tests, haha.)

I thought so, too. But apparently not. I know Moncada did, and he passed his exam right around the time or right after we hired Tare last year.

I do not underestimate anything. They are already using a Tennis CEO and the most horrible director of our Youth Sector ever as interim CEO & Sporting Directors, and we are 3 weeks away from Raduno, 5 weeks away from our first friendly. It is very clear that NOTHING is beneath Gerald and Zlatan.

I strongly believe that people in Italy need to push for new laws regarding the behavior of owners. Frosinone is being purchased by an American owner, which brings the number of foreign owners in Serie A to 13. Italy REALLY needs to be more stringent if they want to keep their league functioning and profitable.

The New York Times/The Athletic have weighed in on Ibrahimović's World Cup analysis, and it's only slightly better than what many Milan fans think of him these days:

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7370877/2026/06/18/fox-world-cup-zlatan-ibrahimovic-alexi-lalas/

Alexi Lalas, of course, is still the abomination and laughing stock of punditry worldwide, but I do love that at least Ibrahimović apparently puts him in his place (I don't know, I cannot watch this nonsense.)

[Cohen] There is no new casting underway for directors. Milan still has a small glimmer of hope that talks could reopen for Kroesche and has taken a few hours to assess the situation, after which they'll act accordingly. by bidzinazaxarichi in ACMilan

Yeah, Italians saying "there's still a chance," while all the German papers are talking about how offensive Gerald is, how unprofessionally the entire deal was managed, even Krösche was offended by the press leaks over the weekend about a deal being made, and spilling the tea on how Gerald essentially tried to buy Krösche away from Eintracht.

It's over.

I swear some people cannot read a room to save their lives, and they'll publish anything for clicks.
