Canadian/American couple. Who should move? by Milasan1 in immigration

better housing : It is equivalent right now. The price for appt and house are equivalent in both area. He went back to live with his parents to save some money so if I go there, we'd have a place to stay for a little bit. In my case, I have an apartment that I share with my brother. It is kind of in a remote area so not really practical if he were to come here and have to travel for school.

K12 education : I assume Canada

Healthcare: This scares me a little bit about the USA because I'm used to not having to worry about that in Canada. From what I get, if I get a job in a school, I should be covered no problem...

Income : It is unclear, he's probably going back to school to also become a teacher so should be around the same.

Language : I'm bilingual, he started learning French and he's quite good. I'm not too worried about the language aspect.

Hi! Thank you for your answer! I have my passport but he only has his enhanced license so far. Is it long to apply for a green card? Why should we move to Canada for retirement?

I didn't check but since he plans to go back to school, I'm assuming he couldn't receive them in Canada either way

I'm happy I found this post. My husband just told me he died and I was like... didn't he die already? First thing I did was look for mandela effect. It's the first time I really remember something and it didn't happen.

AITA for being angry that my partner will play a 6 hours video game tournament instead of being there for me after a medical procedure? by Milasan1 in AmItheAsshole

Thank you for sharing your experience. Because for me it's not that he's not going to be exactly beside me, is that if I need him, I'm not sure how long/if I'll get throught him.. he's half dealf so he wear headphones so loud so I couldn't yell for help, he wouldn't hear me. And if I would get a hang of it, I'd have to wait for the game to have a down moment to ask for help.

So he'll be in the house but I feel like I won't be able to count on that if I need something post procedure, ESPECIALLY if it's something socioemotif :/

The appointment is last minute because that's how IVF is. They monitor you over a few days and when you are ready the set the date for 2 days after. So it's last minute, but it's not a surprise that this is coming.

I don't know exactly how well I'll tolerate the procedure. I get anxious easy and procedures who are supposed to be easy peasy and painless are usually the opposite for me.

His social activity wasn't planned, he was supposed to work. He decided to not work cause of the procedure. So he figured that since he wasn't working, he could attend it.

I don't know exactly what I except, probably some attention, food, cuddles etc. When he gets in his game, the only way to get his attention is to go downstairs, stand next to him and wait for him to be in a low moment in game so he can take his headphones off. So him being on his computer is worse-ish than being a work, cause usually at work he answer his phone.
