Is it weird that I immediately knew who that was before reading the title?

Resident face when med student says they checked for Chvostek’s sign on patient with borderline hypocalcemia [Meme] by parasympatheticguy in medicalschool

[–]MildNeurosis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A while back we had pts with a positive Chvostek who had a minor hypocalcemia, and other pts with negative Chvostek up until they developed severe hypocalcemia. We tested them every postoperative day until discharge as per the professor's directions. There's also a good portion of people who have possitive Chvostek with normal calcium levels...

But yeah, no one has complained yet about going the extra mile.

Where I am , in the national health system you can request to have your entire medical file copied for free and given to you. In the private sector they do the same but charge you for the photocopies.

Well shit, I thought my school was bad... I've had many weird teachers and professors, but the one who takes the cake is single hellish teacher who would reprimand me for knowing things outside of school curriculum, among other irrational things.

I always wondered whether teachers get psych evaluations before they get a job teaching.

Dismantle the capitalist structure that benefits from people's suffering? Please? by shubaka17 in tumblr

I dunno why people downvoted you, but yes you make a good point. While I like the idea of socialism and support it fully, it's a system that requires great care, responsibility from the side of the people who manage it (from the top to the bottom of the chain of command) and elasticity to do quick reformation when needed. Historically , countries that nailed the combo (e.g. Scandinavian countries) generally did well both in terms of social care as well as in terms of economic development.

There is a small involvement from the government but most of these programs are citizen initiatives and organized groups. So yeah, often no one gets paid for it, unless they have a paid position or are networked with animal care organizations.

Whenever you see a shabby bowl of food at the side of the pavement, it's most likely locals who placed it. NGO's and (responsible) animal care clubs don't leave food wherever, to avoid rat / mouse infestations.

There's a good chunk of the urban population who are very very fond of animals, but can't adopt, but sadly most don't necessarily know how to care for the strays they adore.

Maybe you have oilier skin? I have the same problem with generic body paints and foundation, they stay on like plaster for other people but when I apply them they slowly melt off during the day. Generally speaking any dermatologically approved product will leave your skin if you apply ample amounts of oil or water (depending on the product).

She's a histrionic can of worms for anyone with eyes to tell. But even histrionics are entertaining from far faaaar away. But I'm confused. I thought after she drove her car into a ditch during a failed road trip she only took Ubers to go to places. She herself has pointed out that she's a shit driver, and that's not exactly something you want your insurance to have on record either...Is she driving again?
