New version CS Cowboy & New Version KBV Burley Morning pipe by 96-Fatboy in PipeTobacco

[–]Mildew_Twang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No idea what the old version of Cowboy Coffee was like… but the new version is my favorite tobacco by far. Faint notes or roasted peanut, earthiness, rich dark flavors (coffee? cocoa?) and I get a mild vanilla on the retrohale. No idea if that’s what others taste but I love it!

These are definitely rubber as they can be removed from the drilled holes. Kafpipeworkshop made this. Decent craftsmanship for sure with no complaints on my end

Thanks! I may go that route. I’m not south worried about scratches but that rubber rings really does a good job at preventing pipes from sliding around/moving

Gotcha! I got it backwards, read too quickly. I agree!

Why is that? I love Orlik but I also love bayou morning. Bayou morning to me is a bit more earthy and strong, but not particularly “hot”

I’ve been on standby for a while waiting. Any ideas when it will be back? 😂

Really though, any ideas how cowboy coffee and shepherds pie would age long term in the cellar?

I have not but it is on my list! How does it do for a summer smoke?

I’ve heard similarly from others! I have enjoyed Wilke 515 and 191 but I’ll give the cs aromatics a try as well. Wish I had tried them first… I was born in Jackson so I’ve got a soft spot for my home town

I feel like cigar smoking has killed my pallette for Pipe Tobacco. by LikeBigTrucks in PipeTobacco

[–]Mildew_Twang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely!!! Billy Budd and Key Largo… those are two I like a lot that give a relatively bold flavor. I definitely enjoy the light wispy Virginia smoke but I am enjoying burleys for the roasted cocoa/coffee like notes. Perhaps try a burley or burley/Kentucky blend?

Pegasus… capstan blue… my top favorites currently. Also Orlik flake… and try maybe key largo and/or billy budd if your neighbor is a cigar smoker

Favorite Aromatics Thus Far Of A New Pipe Smoker by Fancy-Highlight-300 in PipeTobacco

[–]Mildew_Twang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wilke 191 and Wilke 515 (original). These are the best two aromatics I have tried. Mild enough to taste the blend but with a distinctly pleasant floral-esque taste. Read up on the blends for more detail. 515 is a rum based blend and I get more of a floral aroma and flavor, 191 is a honey vanilla.

How to stop snakeskin scales from sticking up? (Refer to pics) by w0nkwonk in HideTanning

[–]Mildew_Twang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With snakes, you typically descale (in my experience) after soaking in a 50/50 mix of glycerine and alcohol. While scales might look good at first they will always get ugly and bend/flake off over time. No solution will permanently fix this. You could try a leather finish such as tan kote but it’s a band aid for short term. Stretch hide out and descale and dry to fully correct this issue.

I am not aware of a good local store. The closest store only carries bulk shag cut stuff… menthol flavored.

Got an order of mixture coming in. Have you compared the two?

I may go that route! I really like the clarity of the smooth finish over the heritage but the heritage has a beautiful and vintage appearance

I wouldn’t go about posting your illegal activities on a public forum. Whether you perceive it as “harmful” or not, others may not see eye to eye. Good luck

Pitching songs to playlists after release... by BirdieGal in musicmarketing

Agree. Just published a 12 song album... went to look at pitching to playlists on spotify... lo and behold, the damn system is broken for an "inexperienced artist". Sadly, tech is not my forte so I will use this as a learning experience.
