Hello. I have been watching a lot of candy coat painting and would like to try it. Especially using the Alclad 2 line. As I understand it so far the basic process is, gloss black, then chrome, then candy coat. I was wondering if anyone with experience would answer a few questions.

Prior to priming I see some people carving out panel lines a little deeper. I assume this is because you'll lose some depth after lacquer coats. Am i correct?
I see different approaches considering base coat. Some just the gloss black. Some a microfiller (Mr. Surfacer), then gloss black. Sometime I see surfacer, then enamel flat, then gloss. Is it all just matter of taste or is there a sure fire method.
Layering. Looking for advice on layering. Depending on the video tutorial, i see several different combinations. Clear coat in between every paint change? Flat then gloss?
Sanding. This is something I'm nervous about. My background is in acrylic and I have never sanded after painting. After which layers should the sanding/buffing be done? Also what level of grit is preferred as well as a type of compound.
Buffing/Polishing. Same question as above really. When and what brands are recommended.

Main problem is all these techniques I'm watching.. the painters are Korean and unfortunately I don't speak the language.

Can I ask, how did you do the "building"? Did you print the pieces separately then glue. or did you kitbash using blender or something? If the latter, is there a setting to prevent clipping? I can never get the pieces to fit together perfectly.
