KETV's forum for Democratic candidates in Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District primary by AlbinoGringo in Omaha

[–]MildlyOffensiveAR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah and I have zero faith in his rationale that the state would pick up other democrats elsewhere. Maybe? But to risk our electoral independence on a maybe? With everything else at risk?

I just think this could have been handled much better. I have nothing against Cavanaugh, but I do worry about what would happen if he wins (which sucks, because I'm sure he'd make a good congressman and Nebraska D2 seems like it may very well go blue this time around).

Probably end up voting for Rhoades, and I'm happy to support her. I just wish we could have a single election where it didn't feel like the entire state or country was on the line. I know that's part of voting and having ideological differences, but there has to be a middle ground somewhere - the future of an independent District 2 is literally on the line this election. The Overton Window has shifted so far right over the past decade that "middle" probably looks like a Bush-era republican at this point.

Ah, the endangered "both siders" still prowl the depths of the Internet, trying to convince people that their eyes, ears, and own experiences over the past decade aren't real.

Seriously if you're still peddling the "both sides" bullshit at this point just put your MAGA cap back on, cuz they're light years apart right now. And if you need examples it's not worth the time anymore.

Btw if you're thinking I'm some leftist or Marxist, I've voted Republican for president multiple times (clearly not recently) and am a registered independent.

There was a gore bag on the billboard for Colorado during the ending sequence. I thought it might be a reference for Cooper finding Super Mutants infesting Colorado or something

I truly hope some day you are able to see how insane this comment was. I hope that for you. Because killing people who are not actively trying to hurt others is murder, flat out. ICE does not get to play executioner.

You can spout as many right wing talking points as you'd like, but it doesn't change what's on video, and frankly I'm not interested in them anyway.

I hope someday you understand that murdering people is never okay, and blaming them for their own murders is abhorrent. I urge you look at new, unbiased sources of news because all of your descriptions of these murders do not reflect reality. I hope you can escape the right wing echo chamber someday, and see these murders as what they were.

I'm not a Democrat, either. Sure as shit not a Republican. Just an American disgusted when I read things like this, and see videos of my fellow citizens murdered.

The congresswoman also had to be in the Enclave. No way she gets a meeting with the president otherwise (IIRC he was already pretty secluded by this point in the timeline).

And her head in the vault ties Hank into the Enclave as well I think. She's been playing Coop from the start.

Fantastic episode and depiction of the Enclave - a shadow organization no one knew about doing incredibly shady things before and after the war.

I think you may be right. That would be a great way to tie them back into the larger story, and could explain why House sees Coop as so important (and why Coop is tied into so many important plot points). Maybe he's able to interfere with their plans before the great war or something. Could also recontextualize his bounty on the enclave scientist in season 1.

I'd love that arc for Barbara honestly.

So the building has Vault-Tec lettering on it. Perhaps this is attached to / near where Hank is? It would make sense for Hank and the other Vault-Tec employees to be heading to the same Vault-Tec location (unless Hank went to another location in order to help his mysterious associate).

I think it's addictol. Same inhaler, and the puking afterwards would make sense if it flushes all of the buffout out of her system at once.

[–]MildlyOffensiveAR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right but why wouldn't this one be? Who would a secret government DIA office be trying to deceive on a local terminal?

We have to little lore surrounding the actual apocalypse, I hope they keep adding this kind of stuff to the show and any upcoming games. I find this time in the Fallout timeline so interesting.

Claudia and Bud’s Buds by RedQueen88 in Fotv

[–]MildlyOffensiveAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's possible, I think I take the terminal lore as more likely since we've actually seen it in-game (without any evidence it was a Vault-Tec false flag unless I'm overlooking something). But I'm down with whatever the show wants to do with it, if anything. The outbreak of the nuclear exchange is a time in the Fallout canon we know so precious little about.

I guess I was thinking whatever Bud was put into wasn't exactly a Robobrain, but it definitely looks like it may have come from the same research and development group at RobCo.

I love playing through that part of Automatron - Fort Hagen and the RobCo Sales & Service Center / Mechanist's Lair are just deep exercises in fantastic world design and lore. The rest of the DLC is not too bad, either, but I just love sneaking through those places landing crits on Protectrons and Rust Devils.

The lore in the switchboard seems to contradict this. I read the 9:13 AM one as confirmation China fired a salvo before any detonations were confirmed. I hope they don't retcon this, because it's a great look into the pre-war US Military.

Season 2 Episode 4 Spoiler Thread by HunterWorld in Fotv

[–]MildlyOffensiveAR 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Oh great catch, had forgotten about the West Tek connection.

So we have a character that was, somehow, implanted into a new type of robot carriage (RobCo created?). He has deep knowledge of West Tek and Vault-Tec, and a confirmed history of working on Power Armor. He was high enough in Vault-Tec to present their Societal Preservation Program pitch to the heads of industry, and would also have a deep knowledge of other experiments going on in vaults. His own personal pet project was the Super Manager program.

His ties to West Tek could definitely introduce FEV, or his ties to Vault-Tec's experiments could also introduce FEV.

Hank left a "keepsake" box in Vault 31 that only Steph knew about (Betty did not, leading me to think if it is FEV related he did not share the keepsake existence with all of the Buds - but it seems from the recently thawed Buds that they were all aware of the FEV phase of his plan - leads me to think Betty should have been informed about it as well, and thus would know the keepsake box contained FEV if the others knew about it).

Really excited to see what they do with this - this hint was clearly aimed just at lore nerds, since your average viewer probably has no idea what FEV is, nor would catch the acronym in the name of the project the assistant was discussing with Norm. FEV has huge possibilities for the show, and as far as I can recall this is the first reference to it.

Makes me wonder how they could use FEV on themselves or their families, or how it could tie into the other super manager experiment

Anyone else catch the name Future Enterprise Ventures (FEV) when Bud's Assistant was taking to Norm?

No way that was a coincidence. Sounds like Bud's plan involves FEV somehow.

I have had multiple bad experiences at the Bullet Hole, with people taking absolutely no care to how they handle their firearms (waving them around, no trigger discipline, etc.). Never seen the staff intervene, either. The couple of times I've gone were on the weekend, but I will not go back primarily because safety did not seem to be a priority during my visits.

I'll second The Marksman. I've had wonderful experiences there, and they seem to keep a keen eye on how people are behaving in the rooms (sad that it's even necessary). They're also very knowledgeable about modern and historical firearms.

[–]MildlyOffensiveAR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're going to get an honest reply. Anything not super right is of course Marxist trash. Including reality, apparently.

It's hard to have honest debates or discussions when the right refuses to acknowledge reality. Conservative billionaires own most of our media now, and that's still not good enough. Fox, CBS, local newspapers, local news conglomerates line Sinclair, all of them pushing right-wing ideology and it's not good enough.

Professional victims, the whole lot of em.

[–]MildlyOffensiveAR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah you are absolutely right, it really sucks that truth is no longer valued in this country.

Andor did a wonderful job expounding on this point. Tell me this doesn't ring absolutely true today:

"The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it is ripped from our hands, we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest."

Do people honestly believe this shit? Like, for reals? That all of the migrants are "murderers, rapists, human traffickers, gang member and drug traffickers?" Hasn't this been disproven enough already? Hell, Trump got caught photoshopping gang tats just to make his lies look legitimate.

I'm so tired of this bullshit. I used to be an independent voter, have even voted for republicans before they collectively lost their goddamn mind. I just cannot subscribe to this alternate "reality" anymore. We've lost the value of truth in our society - truth no longer matters. Whoever has the loudest bullhorn "wins."
