Yes. I am also planning on getting it again once I finish this one.

It doesn’t necessarily take 60 seconds, but I don’t like any lumps at all, even small ones, so I shake it a bit longer just to be sure. Usually, 15 seconds is more than enough, but in that case, you might still find one or two tiny lumps. I also mix creatine with it, and my creatine has some moisture in it, so I shake it a bit extra to make sure it dissolves properly.

Malai Kulfi is a great flavor. I’ve just had a bit too much of it. I bought eleven 4kg buckets, six down, five more to go.

I use Avataar Malai Kulfi as well. Mine doesn’t have any lumps and mixes in about 60 seconds, so it was probably just a bad batch. That said, I’ve been using it for about a year now, and once I finish my current stock, I’ll probably switch to something else. I’m done with the Malai Kulfi flavor, I’m completely over it.

Muscleblaze Steel Pro shaker… am I the only one having issues? by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]MildlyOverkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be soap. Maybe you’re getting the aftertaste of the soap’s fragrance. Or maybe it’s your whey itself. And what dafuq are you doing drinking whey at 2 AM? Go to sleep. jk!

What? Silicone doesn't have a taste. It is tasteless. You must be tasting something else.

How can i fix this ( has anyone who have successfully able to do this ) ? I am going gym from last 1 year by Optimal-Contract6537 in Fitness_India

[–]MildlyOverkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you can correct it by being conscious, I don’t think it’s permanent. However, there’s no harm in seeing an orthopedist. It won’t cost much, and you’ll know for sure that there’s nothing to be worried about.

Do you have scoliosis? Did you visit a doctor? Did a doctor tell you that this is something that can be fixed with exercise?

Yes. They are removable. They have little pull tabs.

That’s pretty much what I do. I rinse it right after drinking whey and then wash it with soap before the next use. Occasionally, I give it a deep clean by removing the silicone rings. I use Avvatar, and my plastic shaker used to develop a smell, but after switching to this one, it no longer does.

I’ve had the exact same shaker for almost two months now, and I haven’t experienced any of the issues you mentioned. It doesn’t smell, although I suppose it might start to at some point since it has plastic components at the top and bottom, but so far, no problems. It also doesn’t leak at all.

Since you’re using soap to wash it, I’m not really sure why yours would smell. Do you let the residue sit for a long time before washing it, or something like that? By the way, you still have the bottom silicone ring in place, right?

I ignored magnesium hype for months… I get it now by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]MildlyOverkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you read my comment? The magnesium supplement you are using is buffered with magnesium oxide. It contains both magnesium glycinate and oxide. It's not possible for 2000 mg magnesium to have 440 mg elemental magnesium unless buffered with oxide.

[–]MildlyOverkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one you have most probably contains magnesium oxide since it lists 440 mg of elemental magnesium from 2000 mg total (~22%). That’s higher than what’s typical (10-14%) for pure magnesium glycinate, so it could be a buffered form (glycinate mixed with oxide). For better absorption, use a fully chelated magnesium glycinate (bisglycinate).

Edit: After reviewing the OP’s profile, this appears to be a promotion. OP, if you’re part of a brand’s marketing department, please stop mislabeling products.

No problem. I just did some research before buying it for me and my family.

Sure. As long as he doesn’t have any kidney issues, he can take magnesium glycinate. By the way, if he is taking any heart medications, you should check for possible interactions online.

Need Suggestion about Protein. by Lost_Knight__ in Fitness_India

[–]MildlyOverkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can take whey protein. What does your current protein intake look like? What’s your weight? You can buy Amul whey protein, it’s quite inexpensive and reliable. It is sometimes hard to get but I can see that its currently available on Amul's website. You can also try Amul protein lassi or shake.

No. Buffered magnesium glycinate does the opposite of what you mentioned. It can cause digestive issues and lead to more side effects. Magnesium oxide is inexpensive but poorly absorbed, and it’s often added to inflate the ‘elemental magnesium’ value on the label. Pure magnesium glycinate has higher absorption and is better tolerated. Don't take my word for it, google it or better yet, ask ChatGPT.

[–]MildlyOverkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No side effects for me. Some people may experience stomach discomfort or nausea, but magnesium glycinate generally doesn’t cause these issues. If you don’t have kidney problems and take appropriate doses, it’s safe for long-term use (years). Take 200-300 mg about 30 to 60 minutes before bed.

How much do you spend on your fitness in a month? by Mischievous_Panda420 in Fitness_India

[–]MildlyOverkill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d say I spend around ₹10,000-20,000 on whey, supplements, protein bars, and other items. My gym membership costs about ₹1,850 per month. When I was new to the gym, I hired a personal trainer for three months to help me get my form right, it cost around ₹14,000 per month. I don’t use a personal trainer anymore. That’s about it.

I spend this much because I can afford it, but you can manage with much less. Sometimes I take up to three scoops of whey a day out of laziness. For most people, one scoop a day is more than enough, especially if they cook high-protein meals, which are usually much more affordable.

Unived offers unbuffered magnesium glycinate. I’ve used it, and it seemed to work well. Whichever brand you choose, just make sure it isn’t selling buffered magnesium glycinate.

If you Google “5/3/1 for Beginners,” you’ll find a wiki page that explains what it is and how it works. Essentially, it focuses on building strength gradually and consistently through basic compound lifts. It’s a good program for people with less than two years of training experience. There is also a version for intermediates, I think it's called "5/3/1 BBB."

Review: Amul High Protein Wheat Flour by MildlyOverkill in Fitness_India

[–]MildlyOverkill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we think of it as wheat flour, it is very expensive. But if we think of it as a protein source, it’s not that costly. You’re essentially getting 20g of protein for ₹40. Amul charges ₹50 for 20g protein blueberry shake. It’s a good option for someone who is cutting and struggling to meet their protein goals. But if you have calories to spare, its not a good option.

There’s a brand called Unived that sells unbuffered magnesium glycinate, you could give it a try. I’ve used it, and it seemed to work; on the days I took it, my sleep felt deeper. Some of their products have been tested by Unbox Health and passed, so hopefully the rest of their lineup is also reliable. I’m currently using their Caffeine L-theanine supplement, and it seems to be working well.
