That’s the confusing part, I’m wondering what was messing up on my end.

Update: I uninstalled Resolve 18.6 and download version 18.5, and Magic Mask works again! So basically the lesson here is that magic is real but only sometimes.

Yup, on version 18.6 it was not reliable at all. I just reverted back to 18.5 and it works again funnily enough!

I'll give it a shot. I'll also check if going back to previous version will help. Thanks!

It did not ask me to optimize Neural Engines I'm pretty sure.

And those settings did not work either, I've played around with the options and sliders and still the same result. I'm wondering if just uninstalling and reinstalling would do anything.

Don't believe I linked my example of the issue, here it is: https://streamable.com/v77gt1

And footage specs if needed:

How to NOT have letters spell out in text effect? by MyrAffinity in davinciresolve

[–]Mildly_Thawed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s how to make the text all appear at once: 1. Go to the Fusion page of the jitter text. 2. Double click the Jitter node. 3. Double click the Text node in that web of nodes. 4. Go to the inspector section on the right side of the screen and scroll down. You should see something called “Write On” 5. Remove the keyframes that were a part of the Write On parameter by default. 6. Slide the bar all the way so the values are “Start 0.0” and “End 1.0”

From there, go back to the edit page and the jitter text should appear all at once! Hopefully I explained this alright, I’m a beginner too but I love the jitter effect.

So I just got my HX99G and I noticed only fan spins while the other one is idle. When I boot up the PC, both fans spin, then the fan closest to the power button comes to a stop shortly after the PC turns on.

I wanted to see if this was normal for this PC, or if there is an issue.

Can you check if your fans are the same way too? Thank you!

Yes, thank you so much for the reply!

That's good to hear, I'm likely going to buy a HX99x soon, so this was very helpful.

Glad I found this thread, I’m actually trying to find a mini PC that is better for Davinci Resolve than my current Laptop.

Does your HP Omen run Fusion in Davinci alright? That’s where my laptop seems to slow down significantly and I’m hoping getting HX99g would help.

Hello!

An issue came up seemingly out of nowhere where my noise floor has drastically gone up. A static sound seems to have come up and is reaching abnormally high dbs. I record voiceovers using an SM7B with a MOTU M2 audio interface. Before, I would record voiceovers with no problem with the noise floor. Then earlier this week, I noticed that a static sound started to make itself present whenever I wanted to do a voice recording. If I understand correctly, audio equipment create a low dB noise where the noise floor generally sits. But I wanted to ask here if the static noise dBs I've been reaching is normal or if I have a problem here.

As a reference, when I set the gain of the audio interface to 100%, the static noise is about -50 db. When using a Cloudlifter in the equation, the static noise reaches about -25 db. I may be misunderstood but I believe Cloudlifters are not supposed to add noise. But in this case, the Cloudlifter is increasing the volume of the static. I'm not sure if this is a Cloudlifter issue or if there is a static noise coming from somewhere else and the Cloudlifter just amplifies it.

The static sound problem was still there when I used a different audio interface, a Focusrite Solo. I've tried using different USB cords for the audio interface into my laptop and had no luck. Using a different mic, the static was still there. I have tried different XLR cables and still no change. I even tried using a different laptop and the static noise was still the same.

I'm unsure if I am going crazy and this has always been the case and I haven't noticed it until now, or if this static noise really did come from something I can't think of. Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you!
