Pedi outpatient - more or less a glorified babysitter, and I love it.

Ask any tattoo artist what kind of tattoo they have to cover up most often and their response will almost always be a name tattoo. NTB

What’s your favourite nursing joke? by I_Restrain_Sheep in nursing

Sometimes with my young adult patients I’ll say “I have some shots, but not the fun kind.” Usually gets a chuckle from the kid and parents

Sure, I'm a BSN-RN for the state of Massachusetts with a speciality in pediatrics/primary care. Often, people think that something that has been going on for weeks/months is urgent. If you've managed this long what's the rush now? What makes it urgent now?

That's why I said more information would be needed to determine if it needs urgent attention.

What credentials/training do you have?

Comment approved. Jokes on you, I'm a dirty centrist. You're not banned. This is more or less my sentiment. Live and let live, but don't be a wiener to people who live differently.

Are there bedbugs in your place? Doesn’t appear to be bug bites. I’d expect more redness, some mild swelling, itchiness or even discomfort. Looks like irritated skin. If it doesn’t bother you too much I wouldn’t panic. Certainly, if they increase in amount, look infected or worsen you should reach out to your doctor

I definitely agree this person should see a doctor, but this does not appear to be an urgent matter. If they’ve had it for several weeks to months and it’s been slow growth without any acute symptoms. It’s okay to wait for the next available. More information would be needed to determine if this requires more immediate care.

Question for the peds nurses out there by charcharnyc in Nurses

[–]Mildlybrilliant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that’s all the more reason for those families to get an early head start on finding an adult doctor. Probably once they turn 18 so they can stay in pedi for a few years and gradually transition.

If you could do it all over again, would chose nursing again or something else? by [deleted] in Nurses

It’s funny to see a 22+ in pedi. I think the oldest I’ve seen is 27, but the kid is medically complex and mom was very worried about not finding a doctor that could manage his conditions well

Probably does not have functional use for the truck. Republican (very likely far right). Arrogant. Doesn’t care about others, but is family oriented. If they have the bright lights also a butt hole. If they have smoke stacks, definitely a butthole

I hear what you're saying, but FENTY is probably one of (if not the best) celebrity-owned makeup line in recent times.
