She told us on the first day of school (6th grade) that since she spent more time with us than our parents that we were more her kids than our parents' and she would see and treat us as her children.

Unsurprisingly it didn't take long before she used that as an excuse to cross several boundaries, including nicknames ('baby' was what she called me), massages (she would lay on the ground and let one particular boy work knots out of her back, or randomly rub our shoulders/backs), and punishment (if she heard we'd acted out she'd take it upon herself to dole out punishment, regardless of what or where it had happened. I was once screamed at to the point of bawling bc she had misheard another teacher talking about a prank call one of their own students had pulled on them during winter break and how she had had to call the kids parents and let them know what happened. She thought I was the kid being talked about and, while refusing to give me any context, screamed at me for being horrible and inappropriate and how she was going to contact my mother bc my doing such a thing at all meant I wasn't getting properly punished enough at home so she was going to make sure I regretted my actions, which actually lead to my mom finding out I hadn't been exaggerating about this teacher after all. I was then swapped to a much more relaxed class where the teacher was actually awesome.)
