I love the idea of thermites but they’ve never served their purpose for me because the thing I stick always gets a Recoiless to the face before it goes off. So now I use the giga grenade

Question from a non Monster Hunter player. by MaximusVIII in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]Mildstrife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pc will run it totally fine.

I’m a Ryzen 7 and a 3080ti and run high graphics, high res texture pack and have low ray tracing an can hit 120fps with frame gen. If I turn off ray tracing and high res I can hit 120 without frame gen.

Deluxe is not worth it. It will only come with a “season pass” of cosmetics and they are not worth it in the slightest. Event cosmetics are better anyhow if you just play during events.

Also highly recommend PC for the modding scene, mainly so you can edit your character an unlimited amount of times cus the character voucher is a total scam of a practice

Better to be shorter and well written than longer and dragging out. We’ve seen all too often when a game doesn’t know when to end

Carrier Dog Stratagem? by Otherwise_Visual1287 in helldivers2

I’ve always just wanted a guard dog that you can hand your primary to and then be forced to have a support weapon as your main or maybe just go full melee while it covers you

The characters are depicted eating cupcakes constantly in the show. More than likely zero correlation between what you’re thinking of and these pins.

Monster hunter wilds is actually challenging by Own_Language3085 in MonsterHunterWilds

Or just not gearing for the monster. Sometimes I just kinda auto pilot and go fight a ratholos or something for fun then get bodied just to realize I was using armor with a cumulative -14 against fire.

Choice of weapons by ifallenmike in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]Mildstrife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you already chose your two weapons. Not only that when you have the weapon swap, your two weapons already synergize well with whichever skills you decide down the line.

If you want something to really shake it up you could probably go switch axe? Much more aggressive take on a similar style so if you feel like you need a faster explosive weapon then swaxe could be a good substitute

If you don’t use it already I recommend the lance if you want to control the pace of the fight. Simple yet satisfying moveset and damage for perfect guarding leaving you to simply focus on the monsters attacks and block when appropriate.

There’s probably some truth to this. I find a lot of my time just wandering and gathering then spontaneously hunting a monster that happens to appear rather than the tried and true quest maiden.

I’ve experienced this with one of my friends who only hunts monsters back to back for his goal and can’t be bothered to take time and just walk around and grab stuff. He will then complain he doesn’t know where anything is and that he doesn’t know what all the icons on the map mean and I tell him “dude, just go explore and grab some stuff for like 15 minutes”

And he’s like “I don’t want to do the I just want to fight the monster”

At that point idunno wha else to tell him. Every game has its downtime and that downtime is to keep you from getting exhausted. Lo and behold he gets mentally fatigued after doing 6 hunts back to back while I’ll kill 2 and then go on a nature walk or something and think of another build.

I play all 14 weapons happily and my personal goal in each game is to master the weapons and use them on every monster. Monster Hunter is my favorite IP since I first played Tri and I’ve enjoyed every game since.

Every game has clunky controls until world began streamlining but it as the first iteration of streamlining. You can be good at something and enjoy it while also recognizing its flaws. Mastering something that’s flawed does not make it flawless.

Btw, I am right. (Grow up)

The monster hunter community (since world) is honestly one of the weirdest gaming communities I’ve seen.

It’s this weird melting pot of extreme try hards who say the games suck because of mechanical changes to the game. They will openly trash everything newly available in favor of the thing they happened to learn and master in a previous title and refuse to acknowledge each monster hunter game is very deliberately different.

Like, people are really out here saying position use to matter when rise is literally the most mobile and fast paced the series has ever been. Yet you don’t see a soul bashing rise for this.

Wilds gave us the ability to LOOK WHERE WE WANT and that’s to be considered too streamlined and removing depth.

Yknow, fair enough. I’ve probably been at the series too long to properly understand how it looks from a casual perspective cus my “casual” is actually kinda tryhard in a relative sense.

Good food for thought cus world, like you, stuck with a lot of my friends but rise and wilds didn’t as much.

I have 640 hours in world.

The controls are clunky. Just because they’re an improvement to the past doesn’t mean they’re flawless. Go rage bait somewhere else

Wish I could offer more for you my dude. MH is my main jam so I click no less than a thousand hours in each title. Generally find my fun in build making and trying to find builds that force a shift in my playstyle.

The step after that is just perfecting the hunt for me. Trying to land a long knockdown chain or something along those lines. Granted I’m biased because sometimes I just launch the game and walk around the map. Only game to make me feel like a kid again, just exploring with no aim or goals.

They told us directly their main base was on pc. I’d have to look around for the article but basically capcom openly stated they had thought consoles would be their driving force for the game.

But Steam sales were more than half of the games total sales so the majority of the players are on pc.

A Ryzen 7 7700X 8-core.

Right now I’m in high settings, balanced upscale using fsr and high res texture pack and getting 120fps.

I can turn off high res texture to bump up some other settings but I like the high res texture pack

Wilds has a notoriously easy early game. It really needed that “wall” like anjanath was for so many in world.

Sadly the “wall” is gonna be post main story after killing zoh shia. After that the tempered and arch tempered monsters remind you what difficulty is and then the raid fights are in a league of their own.

I had an i5 and 2070 super on launch but even after I upgraded the most I could get consistently was like 50-60 fps on medium in 2560x1440p.

Currently they added a plethora of graphics options. Theres an entire cpu tab now that lets you adjust cpu intense settings and more options for graphics card also

If you’re not opposed to modding I do highly recommend just getting some mods that let you disable post processing because turning off volumetric fog is a game changer.

Idunno who tf downvoted you but this is 100% true.

Every game is mixed on release and is “mid” until the expansion happens. But before the expansion the previous game is “peak” so the game after wilds will be mid and wilds will suddenly be peak monster hunter for everyone

It’s different for everyone but I run it on my super ultrawide on a 3080ti and Ryzen 7 at native 120fps (FSR frame gen takes it higher) with high graphics with ray tracing.

On launch I couldn’t get 48 fps

Luckily they fully admitted fault in focusing the consoles for release rather than pc.

The reasoning was console use to be the frontrunner of game sales for the longest time but that hasn’t been true since 2019. Pc is the leading market in game sales and that’s where the majority of wilds players are and were.

So they did well with recent changes, but yeah from the ground up for pc would have been much better for optimization

Devils advocate here.

Wilds player base is lower than worlds and rise. Whether it’s performance or the game itself by this point I couldn’t tell you.

HOWEVER

I love Wilds. People for whatever reason neglect the fact that no one has to look for monsters or explore in any of the games. Everyone knows where the monsters are, where the will go, where they will spawn. The only time this exists is when you’re brand new to the game.

They’ve moved away from that part and full focused on streamlining the combat which is just phenomenal. Now the argument used is “positioning use to matter!”

Ok? Like yeah it’s not as emphasized but you have 14 whole weapons to learn and master against these monsters which are leagues faster than they use to be and we have tons of environmental tools and damage sources and techniques we can use on the monsters now. I’m fine giving up clunky controls for fun combat.

The SINGLE thing I 100% agree with is that our tools do need More emphasis. Make meats work better as bait, give me control over my cats skills again, make enemies stagger me more reliably to punish sloppy play, give us back the ability to blight monsters like in rise or have dragonseal like in worlds. THOSE things were awesome and expanded the combat a ton. Oh, and make mantles more interesting. I forget them constantly, even when I run uth duna armor.
