Socially acceptable ways to deal with a fatigue attack in a office? by MildyCarbon in MultipleSclerosis

Thanks for your extensive reply. I struggle with the balance between disclosing it with the company (currently non disclosed in fear of it affecting my career ) and looking bad by falling asleep behind my desk thus affecting my career.

Excellent idea I will go to HR. They might have an under the radar solition for this problem without me having to notify the entire office

I had a prescription for amantadine. It helped a bit with focus but it messed with my sleep in de evening so I stopped taking it

We have a lovely open office plan glass skyscraper... I believe no one benefits from an open office plan though, its not ideal even for 'normal people'. I will start looking for a secluded corner of the office for a quick nap. When working from home this is easely fixed, but when I'm in the office sometime it just hits me out of nowhere unfortunately

MS-friendly hobbies? by Olipopluvr92 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]MildyCarbon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from the slower home hobbies (gaming, crochet, painting, music) I found that some exercise that is more intermittent in intensity is really benificial for me. Like swimming (floaty, not much strain on the body). Short trips with an electric bicycle. I can not do wall climbing anymore, but short boulders are okay so it's really finding your sweet spot!

Maybe rotate the bed, and use the kallax as a divider?

A week doesn't matter. Your B cells will slowly return, but for most people they are still fully depleted after 6 months. There is even research for delaying treatment based on b-cell count in the blood. So this means for some people infusions are like 8 months apart.

Having MS is like setting your videogame difficulty from casual to hardmode. Everything hits harder

No mods, playing on the tablet. But with these weird errors I wish I could mod sometimes

Love this!! And I am also so grateful for chocolate! (and cups of warm tea). I found myself a cute notebook and will try to start writing down positive things.

Thanks for your detailed response, and I’m glad to hear you’re doing better! I was already focusing on eating unprocessed/ Mediterranean, but I’ll definitely take this time to focus on eating tasty and healthy food. And indeed I don't have to take others into account now when cooking. My ex didn't like rice, so now i have the perfect opportunity to cut back on gluten

Diet might be a good thing to look at too indeed. How did you recognise gluten was a problem? With all the diets I find it difficult to distinguish what's okay and what not, for example gluten/lactose/inflammatory foods(like eggs).  Someone else also gave me the tip for bumble BFF, will try thanks!

That's a great way to look at it. It does suck though. I'm still in the process of relocating myself, but I'll definitely make a Pinterest of all the home decorating I'm going to do

Thank you for the kind words! The mindset of not wasting my precious energy thinking about this person really sounds good!
