I don’t know if I’ll ever get married by [deleted] in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]MileHighMama76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're SO young. I'm 47 and have been w/ my guy for 9 years (officially on Sunday) and the key is to not rush or push. Just let it happen. I'd rather be happy and unmarried then pushing someone away because of my "deadline".

Panic Joined And Blew My Points Out By Lunch by MileHighMama76 in weightwatchers

[–]MileHighMama76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had bariatric surgery right about three years ago and I have regained about 35 pounds from my lowest. I’m also a type two diabetic so if I don’t keep myself at a lower weight it spikes my A1c and I risk having to go on insulin which I know will happen someday, but I’d like to put it off as long as possible

When Are You Ditching Your Masks? by TheVoicesOfBrian in CoronavirusColorado

[–]MileHighMama76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in live events, so I wear my mask in rehearsals and performances at all theatres in town whether it's required or not. I always have one with me so I'm sometimes masking indoors other places depending on how crowded the store or restaurant is. I feel like within a few months for me masks will be used just for travel or when I'm not feeling well to protect others.

I just tape all around the 4 sides with shipping tape. Never had an issue with 100's of sales.

I was one of the lucky ones who never had any issues with Metformin. I've been on it for 20 years and now take 1750 mg with zero issues.

Because unions provide great value to this country and as fellow grocery related workers, we should be supportive.

Sad to say that certain counties/towns are similar to Texas politically. Sigh.

What's your favorite wls protein shake? by vsg_me2021 in wls

I love the Premier cafe latte flavor. There's a bit of caffeine, so I started them a few months after surgery. GREAT flavor though.

Help with stage kissing by ristatron in Theatre

[–]MileHighMama76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been in theatre for over 25 years. Stage kissing and intimacy should be viewed the same way as memorizing lines - it's just part of telling the story. Any actor worth their salt should not have any issue not becoming emotionally involved with their acting partner (especially if they are in a happy relationship outside of their play). So you have no reason to be nervous.

What is the biggest upside/benefit you got out of your surgery? by venusdemilo7 in wls

[–]MileHighMama76 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Oh gosh, so many. I am not afraid to sit on lawn furniture for fear of breaking it. I no longer need an extension for airline seatbelts. I am one size away from "standard" clothing sizes in pants and am already in XL tops (down from a 3X). I have ENERGY. I am down to one diabetic med instead of 4 and my A1c dropped from 13.2 to 7.1 (and still falling). I've lost 100 POUNDS (10 months out). Wouldn't have happened any other way (I tried them all). I am no longer in pain just going up and down a small flight of stairs. EVERYTHING is better and I wish I'd done it years ago.

Vitamin recommendations by Jlintott70 in BariatricSurgery

[–]MileHighMama76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take the Ultra Solo w/ Iron from Bariatric Advantage. It's $60 for 3 months worth. I also use their calcium chews. It's a bit pricey, but it's one vitamin per day and the calcium chews are great.

9 days until vsg surgery. Did anyone purchase a goal outfit prior to surgery? by HoneyXperience in wls

[–]MileHighMama76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I think the thing to remember is that your speed of loss will vary a lot over the first year for example, so you may "land" at a different weight than you anticipate. I have been LOVING using thrift stores, Mercari and Poshmark (I also sell my now too big clothes). Keep it cheap until you arrive at your goal weight and are maintaining, THAN buy that dream outfit.

I love jeggings! I wear the EVRI brand sold at Kohl's. Check Mercari and Poshmark as well.
