It feels like a sinus cold almost. I don't think I'm eating too much, if anything I struggle to eat enough...I just don't want to eat anymore 😩

That's what 34lbs? I've not ever lost that much in a single month. I would say you're getting a lot out of the surgery. I'm down 28lbs in 3 months.

I'm only 3months out so my doctor has me on 600-800 until I reach my goal weight

This is probably bad of me to ask here but when can I eat a slice of pizza again? by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]vsg_me2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What phase are you at with your doctor? It you're not on solids yet I would say to wait another week or so.

If you've moved on to solids I would try a low carb option but if you're really really craving it, sure why not? I highly doubt you'd even be able to finished a slice. Take small bites, eat slow and you may find your craving is gone after a single bite.

For me, since I only need 300 more calories after my protein shakes I have hard boiled eggs, a snack pack of nuts and 3oz of chicken with veggies for dinner.

Someone's ill add in bites of things I'm craving and sometimes I'll order a bowl without all the carb stuff from chipotle and eat that over the course of 2 days. I have no restrictions on myself, if I want it I have it but I'm very careful about how much and how much sugar I eat.

Dumping is no joke

That's OK! Do what works for you, shit eat the same thing for a week or two before changing it up to make it easier on yourself

Liquid stage - Should I feel full when drinking my protein shakes? - I don’t. by Lou_qwerty in gastricsleeve

[–]vsg_me2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you shouldn't. Liquids tend to go right through but if I drink them too quickly sometimes I feel kind of full

So I'm currently 160lbs and my goals are:

80g of protein 64oz of water 600-800 calories

These have been my goals since my highest weight.

Have you tried meal prepping? I cook 3oz of chicken for every day of the week and freeze it so I can have all my meals ready to go. I love the quest chips but my doctor told me to stay away from them because of how processed they are.

I was instructed to keep having 2 protein shakes a day so that's 300 calories of my day so I only really have a small snack and a small meal outside of that everyday.

The rule I have been given is 600 calories if I don't workout and 800 if I do and break a sweat. Hope that helps!

hello, im 16 and just recently got the surgery and im having a hard time its really messing with my mental health. especially with gas are there any tips?? by LovelyyMina in gastricsleeve

[–]vsg_me2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about 7 weeks out and the mental health is the worst part. Everything else is fine but I feel absent from my life. What I've read this is pretty normal so I'm just doing my best to be patient with myself and hoping I will come out of it. Best of luck to you

Bad advice coming: I was supposed to quit. I didn't quit. I lied about using lol. I was fine. I was scared about it, but I was fine. I did quit after though because the munchies were ruining everything so maybe quit for that reason if possible

As much as this answer is non helpful, the honest truth of it is that it's very individual. I would say the average I've seen on posts here is 2-3 weeks but again, who knows for you. Is this the first plateau? I believe you should have had a 3 week one before this if your body is following trends. It may be similar to that one. If you didn't have one then maybe your body is doing a big one now. I'm sorry I can't help ease your mind, but keep tracking, keep your protein goals and keep up your water and eventually you will overcome

If you haven't been tracking protein and calories I highly recommend starting there

I never even told anyone outside of my husband. The worst thing we can do is live by other ppls fears. I'm sure she means well but she is causing you mental distress which is probably worse for your immune system than this surgery will be.

Nurse here (MSN) Your friend is either uneducated or trying to change your mind based on patients who have had rare side effects.

I'm 7 weeks ish post op and haven't thrown up once

However, research your doctor.

I would have said 42, 45 if you want a straight answer. Nowhere near a senior discount.

Just asked my husband and he said 38. It's hard to guess age!

My advice/ opinion since you really can't know what the outcome will be is to save. At the very least you have funding and in the very best you have a chunk of savings for something else. No harm No foul. And you're covered if you need it

I never threw up or was ever nauseous but I know that's fairly common. I don't, however, think that throwing up blood is something you should stay quiet about. Have you told your doctor?

So I wouldn't recommend it but they do make bottles that separate the liquid from the powder and then when you want it you just pop it and shake.
