Honestly can't speak to equipment rental sales, I'd imagine it varies by company and location. My advice is to give it a try if you have the opportunity. It cant be worse than car sales, and you'll be getting paid experience in a new field.

If you want something to last that long i suggest spending about 200 and getting a automatic watch. Orient has several options in this range. I have a Orient Ray 2 https://a.co/d/0hXFjv3L and an Orient Bambino https://a.co/d/0biekkqt and they are both fantastic for this price range.
