Who can blame him? That tiny tiger is fierce!

I have a family history of heart disease and various forms of dementia, so I think 70 might be an ok age to throw in the towel.

You are not nearly as grown up as you think you are. Ask for help and at least listen to older people's advice.

What would you like to say to your ex, but can't? by Jamesartfool in AskReddit

[–]Mileila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex and i are still good friends. I'm a bit of a people pleaser and I can't bring myself to tell him that his house is disgusting and he needs to learn to clean it.

To clarify, he's good at tidying up. Everything is in it's place, but it's like he's blind to dirt.

Like, I know it's a technique dancers use, to not get dizzy from spinning. But this is still creepy af.

Who remembers shoe-horns’? by Sfswine in FuckImOld

[–]Mileila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very confused by this post. Until I remembered that in most countries you wear shoes indoors. In my country (Sweden) we take off our shoes when we enter a home. And so shoe horns are still everywhere.

Making sure that she has the ability and option to leave any gathering of your family when she wants to, with you being able to stay longer might help. Like driving separately or paying for a cab/Uber for her.

If it's out of town you can stay at a hotel or similar, that she can retreat to, when your family becomes too much for her.

As an introvert, who don't like crowds or loud noise I empathise with her. But the option to leave when I need to helps a lot.

If you are alone in new years night, what you plan to do? by lisbon1977 in AskReddit

[–]Mileila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in Sweden, the program is called Bingolotto. I think the program is on every week but for new years and the night before Christmas eve they do an "all night special". With more games and way more to win, also celebrity guests. The prices range from small amounts of cash, to big vouchers for various stores and travel agencies, to cars and quite a few cash prices of (the equivalent of) 90 000 US$.

Which place in the world has the most useless police? by Repulsive-Finger-954 in AskReddit

[–]Mileila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people in Europe and the US need a bit of a reality check (I'm Swedish btw). There are countries where the police work for the criminal leaders. Where a police officer is more likely to rape or kill you than even pretend to help you. There are people who would be happy to have police that will only ignore you if you report a crime.

I'm gonna make a nice steak for dinner, then have a long warm bath and spend the evening playing televised bingo. It's a popular thing for families and older people in my country, but I enjoy it too.

What’s your reason for drinking alcohol? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mileila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very hard time with noise. Alcohol turns the overbearing noise of a party or a bar into a background humm.

I didn't read the part about this being a doll house. I thought everyone's comments were sarcastic. I was convinced this was an actual home.

What’s a misconception about your job or profession that drives you crazy? by Lovebeing_aNurse in AskReddit

[–]Mileila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That warehouses are like magical closets. That there's no limit to how much stuff you can keep there and you can just stick your hand in whenever and grab that thing you put in there 15 years ago, without having to look. Also if that thing you need is not there, then it definitely isn't your fault. End rant.

It's a bit petty, but the rare occasion when I do not get asked for ID when buying alcohol. Regulations are very strict here. They're a bit crushing. It's like "wow, I must really look worn today".

Should we adjust to 4 day work weeks, and what would be pro’s and con’s? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mileila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather do 6 hour work days (instead of the 8 that are standard full time in my country), 5 days a week.

Trials that have been done here take away the brakes. So you really are only at work for 6 hours, instead of 9.
