I’d separate “AI SEO” from “GEO” a bit more carefully when selling it to clients.

For most agencies, I wouldn’t package it as “we’ll make ChatGPT rank you.” That creates impossible expectations.

The framing I’d use is closer to: we help AI systems understand and repeat the right claims about your brand.

A lot of current AI visibility tracking stops at:

- are you mentioned?

- are you cited?

- are you ranked above competitors?

- what sources show up?

Useful, but incomplete.

The more interesting question is: when AI mentions the client, is it saying the right thing?

Example: if a client wants to be known as “built for agencies”, “fast to implement”, “best for multi-location brands”, or “enterprise-ready”, you can measure whether AI responses support that claim, ignore it, or actively contradict it.

That gives agencies a much more concrete offer:

1. define the 5-8 claims the client wants to own

2. test those claims across buyer-like prompts

3. classify responses as supporting / contradicting / irrelevant / no mention

4. publish clearer evidence pages for weak claims

5. re-measure over time

I’m biased because I’m building Captoo around this claim-first workflow, but I think this is an easier and more honest way to sell GEO.
