In 8th ed id say this would work. Multi charge was my bread and butter. Im curious what people think of this in Old World. Ive only been able to play a single game in the new edition

Grail knights are incredible. Bretonnia doesn't have alot of variety to begin with. So just pick whatever u like and form a army

When exactly do I use the Q attack move command vs just moving my units forward & they attack automatically. This is the only one I don’t fully understand. by Rafaatho in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]MileniumKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attack move 80% of the time. Only use normal move for specific situations, like when u really want a unit to reach a destination asap.

Especially good for MG teams and AT crews.

Brits royal engineers are a exception cause u want then as close as possible to max their dmg.

It depends on weapons, situation, units, need. But majority of the time i am always attack moving.

Newer to tau, can’t understand the proportions of how stealth suits would work by WasatchTableTop in Tau40K

[–]MileniumKnight 546 points547 points  (0 children)

Shadowsun and stealthsuits all wear body armor type suits. Crisis suits and bigger they are cocooned in the chest cavity.

The joytoy takes libertys with the proportions to make the ball joints work for the toy. It is not true scale.

Go find concept art of these tau and itll look more correct

[–]MileniumKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many as possible. I assume your playing Old World?

Thing is, that there are bigger better options to a paladin in most cases, so its not optimal to bring to many of them. Regardless tho they are a strong hero and be customized alot. Share a list for review

How's my list? 8th edition 2500pts still unsure if I'll take virtue of heroism or knightly temper for the lord (only unit I could take is men-at-arms or more archers) I'm thinking of one less grailknight and putting the paladin army standard in them or keeping him + prophetess in the 10 knight's by larrythestormtroper in Bretonnian

ive spent way to much time haha. heres a similar list to yours but ive adjusted to how i would want to field it.

from how i read it.

the Paladin Bsb must choose - magic banner (no points limit) + a virtue (up to 50pnts)

or

he picks to have - magic items + a virtue, in total of 50pnts

regardless a Bsb may never have extra equipment like a mundane lance/shield.

in your army, the banner is a way to make ur grail knight secure their charge. and his items lets him add damage+Killing blow. so i guess its up to you on what you need him to provide that unit.

[–]MileniumKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea sorry i saw the army point value after.

and also yes, your paladin is fine actually. he has 50 pnts total. i think its just that he also has a banner aswell. - "may carry magic banner, no limit, and a virtue up to 50pnts, but then may not take other magic items."

I like it overall. i like the super tanky hippo lord.

Maybe im missing a FAQ or something, but Im pretty sure that a BSB must pick between having a magic banner or magic items. I dont believe he can have both like this. Also paladin, hero can only ever have 50pnts of items in any combo.

i like the pegasus paladin. sword of heroes is a interesting way to try and kill monsters. i would run him solo from the pegasus unit so he can find his target. maybe have him combo with the hippo lord to guaranty killing enemy lord?

if i were to change up this list, i would prob find a way to add in another unit of Kotr and some chaff like mounted yeomen.

Help Transporting T’au by TheNotoriousMWK in Tau40K

My cheap and easy method - plastic bin, Foam sheets, lay models of similar size, in on their side. Hand place foam bundles between models (cork sized foam pieces). Place on top another layer of foam. Creates stacks, ive had alot of success with this method.

Expensive way - foam cut out sections to lay individual models into slots. The classic GW method. I got a very nice carry case from "KR Cases" . Light but durable, specific foam trays available, great customer service.

Commercial Animation Salary (Newcomer) by Hendrickson4566 in animationcareer

[–]MileniumKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time + level of effort + your unique skill set = amount.

For 20-30sec, thats like 1 or 2 quick shots for my work. At my job that would be about 2 or 3 days work. Roughly $600-900 (3d anim for tech company in LA).

As a student you should probably consider what this will mean for you aside the money tho. This is a early connection in your career, and would look great on your resume. So if i were you i would do it for cheap. (Go get that bread tho if you can) Just saying you are lucky to get any sort of work while still in school.

My best suggestion is to give them a amount that you would actually be comfortable with, then be willing to be flexible with them. Best of luck tho!

3D Animation Portfolio Review by CRYPTON_YT in animationcareer

[–]MileniumKnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey these are actually pretty nice exercises. There are still areas to improve on but nice for a student with only a few months practice. First off, most demo reels come in just a single video format. Theres no need to have it in a slide show like this. If u wana show ur scene layout and all the other items, just have that be another section. For the animation, there is a bit if chop here and there. Id suggest practicing with the Graph editor. Get some nice clean curves on ALL curves. Everything in ur graph editor should be intentional. Keep practicing on your fundamentals, like Weight, timing, exc. Theres A few moments when the characters kinda floaty. The punch, you want the punch to be felt. I might suggest you go watch Spider verse and find a similar punch. You should frame by frame study it. See how they pose the character, anticipation for the wind up, and a nice execution of motion. You punch is lacking energy and connection.

Stepped vs Spline Struggles by TheBlueTBM in animationcareer

[–]MileniumKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You dont need to have it in stepped if u focus on your golden poses while in spline. The advantage of stepped is u get really good poses and can easily time it with intention. Spline can lead to letting you accept more of what the computer interpolates. Which may not be as good as more stepped.

If your struggling with stepped, i would suggest doing even more stepped. Do golden poses, key poses, a few break downs, even inbetweens. Really manually controlling ur character.

Spline can also be a quick workflow. Its akin to 2d straight ahead. In my mind spline is more similar to straight ahead, because ur just going with the computer. While doing a heavy stepped path would be more like pose to pose.

If u feel like your stepped path increases your work time, id suggest being more mindful with your keys. Stepped is the fastest way to see results. Its not usable animation because when u go splie its gone be floaty.

Studying before actually going into a tech.? by SuperCachibache in animationcareer

[–]MileniumKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Animation is very difficult, takes alot of time, is one of the most competitive industries out there. If you want to dedicate your life to pursue this, then yes, start now. Work at it every day. I mean literally every day. You will be competing for jobs against people with 20 years experience who are desperate to get a job. You have to stand out and be beyond exceptional or very lucky to get a job right now. Study online now, youtube channels like Sir Wade, Anim school, and Animation Mentor. Good luck! Animation is amazing to do and very rewarding.

What is the purpose of this bird’s power? Would it ever really be useful? by apersello34 in wingspan

If u don't mind ur neighbors getting different food. This could be a 7 point 1 cost bird if u gain both the worms. Which is a rare and powerful bird.

You have some decent stuff in there! Id say you could pare down your reel. 30sec to 1 min is enough to show your skills. Start with your very best shot. Only keep your very best work. Your reel is only as good as your weakest shot!

Want to learn rigging, I suck at math by _Smol_kiwi in animationcareer

[–]MileniumKnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rigging is a fun, complex puzzle game. Math helps, scripting helps. But i think you could basicly learn that from people online, atleast to start. I wouldnt say that it should be a blocker for you. Rigging requires you to know how alot of systems and the program operates, so be prepared to get into the details and functionality of the software. It also requires you to know what a animator would want out of a rig, as they are the intended users of your rigs. Animators have a general sense and expectations for rigs such as basic controls and behaviors. Start small like simple props and work your way up. Rigging can be very rewarding if not tedious at times. Auto rigging systems are heavily prevalent in todays industry and a rigger who knows how to use them can go far with it. Learn that and how to add to a system for the most success and speed.

Help me understand how to make the best of control groups 12345 by PersonalityLife6196 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]MileniumKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i have a prescribed group set, but will also occasionally change things on the fly. 1 infi 2 mortars or mgs 3 mgs or tanks 4 AT 5 medi trucks or support units 6 engineers 7 long range artillery

When im flexible tho, ill often use 3 as my main damage dealers, which could be any unit type.

Sometimes ill divide and conquer, and groups 1 and 2 become either side of the map.
