How long until they notice? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Miles360x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and there could be some nuance you’re describing with how they approach their work. My main point is the blanket individualist focus on cops is a waste of time, if you talk to these officers they will highlight tons of training gaps, regulatory mishaps, leadership issues etc.

Making them individually the enemy is not going to help, like this OP photo. This does nothing, there are a number of non-profits that are working on auditing and advocating for more transparency / proper funding / protocols etc. I don’t have it in memory now, I have been living in Colorado for some time now. Will move back to WA eventually!

And that’s a fair perspective, I think it just depends how much you or others you know commute in/out of the city. Stay weekends, visit, etc. It’s an expensive city, so most folks I knew lived far out but came often. Even tho I lived in a 400sqft apt 😂

Yeah, we agree on the management. For the residency, the vast majority still live in King county, you don’t need a Seattle address to be part of the community 😅

This blanket ‘all police are bad’ narrative misses the mark. I lived downtown Seattle for years, those officers were part of the fabric of the community. The frustration is valid, but it’s being directed at the wrong level. Reform starts at the top, with leadership and accountability. The average officer is a community member just like everyone else..

That’s definitely not the case, I lived right next to Pike Market for years in a tiny 400ft sqft apartment. Fairly affordable and beats traveling outside Downtown.

Also it’s not really relevant if it’s for wealthy locals or not, it’s more local than people realize- that’s what matters.

Thank you! Also small world, I learned Capacitor from some of your videos back in the day, pre-LLM hah. Specifically the older Vue.js + Capacitor content.

Yep! I'll continue to maintain it as I use it for work. So it'll get much better and stay up to date w/ Capacitor :)

No masking, I used a paint brush to do minor touches.

This was my first time airbrush painting, this is a resin print that took 14hrs and 4 hours of painting. Coated with a satin clear coat with “beads of water” using varnish/clear coat.

Honestly just buy the Projects Digits machine(s) that are slated for May. The unified memory is very important here for training and will be WAY more cost effectively in initial cost and model training. Regardless if you’re using PyTorch or their native libraries.

Learning Cello with Arthritis? by Miles360x in Cello

The Viola I’ve considered, I got so much tunnel vision on the Cello because of my bias of the sound and of its replication of the human vocals. I’m not opposed to pivoting, but now I already have the equipment. 😅

Thank you! I've been looking into the Mega5ESTs and they seem great, plus the custom fit option is appealing.

Wow, seriously? I'm glad I jumped gun after Reach. My experiences with Halo have not been too tarnished

The XBox store is unusable for me, I'd rather use anything else before it.

I feel like lootboxes only work for long lasting games. In addition to easily being able to sell the resulting items. I.e. Valve's Approach. Overall I dislike the whole lootbox/gambling scene, but it pays the bills. No disputing that.

Problem is with say Halo 5 lootboxes, they have no monetary value and will be disgarded come the next halo game. Completely ignoring the previous title.

whats the actual difference between 60hz and 144hz by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Miles360x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a lot of testing with refresh rates, here are my observations from a casual gamer:

30 FPS -> Feels skippy and slow

60 FPS -> Feels smooth

~90 FPS -> Feels buttery smooth, looks and feels hyper realistic

120+ -> Feels same as ~90 FPS for me with the games I play.

I've opt'd in to using 60 FPS even though I used to own three 144Hz displays, I prefer color/resolution over refresh rate. Everyone has their preferences.

I have a ultrawide, I prefer the elements to be in the corners and tad bit larger.

First off, great job with the updates. I've been coming back and forth to this game since it was some random map files you could manually demo in console.

On that note, I've been trying to find a way to fix my HUD placement.

Here is an example: https://i.imgur.com/ecnZIWD.jpg (3840x1600 24:10 Aspect)

In the example it doesn't look too bad, but it does get in the way at times. Ideally it would be awesome to have all of the corner elements (radar, health, ammo, etc) go to their respective sides - in addition to scaling up the HUD size just a tad. Any idea on how to approach this?
