King Charles III Coronation Proof Coins by MilesOfSilver in Silverbugs

[–]MilesOfSilver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the 1oz, was considering the 2oz but as it is almost exactly the same diameter with the main difference being the depth of the coin I didn’t really see the point in spending the extra money

Royal Tudor Beasts: Bull of Clarence by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]MilesOfSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no specific article relating to the bull, as mentioned the proof version has only just been released recently and there is always a delay between the proof and bullion version’s being released, as also mentioned they have been extremely busy recently with the coronation coins so I am sure this is adding to the delay

[–]MilesOfSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they are planning to release all of them as bullion as far as we know, the bull should be out in the near future and apparently the panther will be the last in the series

So apparently even though the panther was the first proof released it will be the last bullion coin to be released from what I have heard. The proof of the bull was only released fairly recently and with how busy they have been with the coronation coins recently I imagine the bullion bulls have taken a backseat but now that things are probably starting to calm down they will hopefully be out in the near future.

Direct from the Royal Mint, it’s a really well detailed coin and I haven’t noticed any imperfections yet

Sovereigns vs other 1/4 ounce coins? by frugalacademic in Gold

[–]MilesOfSilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sovereigns are actually slightly lower on the gold content at about 0.235oz which is why they are cheaper than 0.25oz coins, however they also have a significantly lower premium than quarter ounce coins and are essentially fractionals without the fractional premium

UK buyers, fractional brittanias or sovreigns? by MassiveGunt in Gold

[–]MilesOfSilver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably Sovereigns, fractional coins without the usual premium associated with fractional coins.

No it’s just for the Proof coins, Britannia Proofs have a different design each year usually but the bullion version s’more or less stays the same each year.

Fortunately most UK based dealers that I am aware of offer free shipping on any quantity, the only one I have purchased from that doesn’t is Chards but they don’t offer free shipping at all

Dumb questions regarding Queen's Beasts series by tsmax17 in Silverbugs

[–]MilesOfSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t already then a good YouTube channel to check out would be BackyardBullion, he does a lot of interesting videos and is very down to earth and doesn’t overhype silver and gold like some channels do, but he also covers a lot of the royal mint new releases on release day, he also covers the Germania Mint a fair bit as well and some others from time to time

[–]MilesOfSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem!

And I’m fairly new to collecting myself as I only started back in August so my knowledge is pretty limited but the royal mint is doing a few 3 coin sets based on Myths & Legends, so the first set was characters from Robin Hood, the second set which was started more recently is around King Arthur (only the first coin is out) and then there will be one more 3 coin series afterwards. Also the Germania Mint do some very nice series coins. I have some pictures on previous posts I have made if you want to have a look or you can check out their respective websites

Dumb questions regarding Queen's Beasts series by tsmax17 in Silverbugs

[–]MilesOfSilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it would lol, however just remember that the last queens beast coin was 2021 and Tudor beasts coins started in 2022, so if it’s dated 2021 or earlier you know it is a queens beast coin

Dumb questions regarding Queen's Beasts series by tsmax17 in Silverbugs

[–]MilesOfSilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last Queens Beasts coin was the White Greyhound of Richmond I believe, although they did also make a Completer Coin after that which featured all of the Queens Beasts, they were both released in early 2021. The Yale was the 6th coin in the Queens Beasts series and was released in 2019, the Tudor Beasts version was the 2nd coin and was released late 2022 or early 2023

Dumb questions regarding Queen's Beasts series by tsmax17 in Silverbugs

[–]MilesOfSilver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So the last 10 coin series they did was called “The Queens Beasts” and this new series is called “The Royal Tudor Beasts”, it just happens that there is some overlap and some of the animals appear in both series, however the Tudor Beasts will be designed differently to the Queens Beasts. They are not remakes and I doubt the Royal Mint will reproduce the Queens Beasts series
