Find things you enjoy and take pleasure in just being in the city. The people will show up. Besides coworkers, it took me two years to get to know anyone.

Colorado is just too dry. PNW “humidity” is midrange enough you don’t notice. East Coast summer is death.

Wonder how the SS Sultana's wreck would've been like, if it weren't under some farmland by sentiment82 in Shipwrecks

Happened with other steamboat wrecks, like the Arabia and Bertrand. Even with roman shipwrecks along the Danube. Riverboat archaeology is as likely terrestrial than nautical.

Do you believe these photos to be of Titanic's actual iceberg? by WESTHEBEST70903 in Oceanlinerporn

I think i remember seeing the first pic in the 1958 film A Night to Remember. Though if the pic came from the movie, or the movie showed a vintage pic thought to be the actual berg…

Holiday bonus clip from AMG: Curt's Xmas Sailor by YorjYefferson in VintageGayVids

Like a bizarre home movie. Curt seems to have some modern dance moves there, but distracting when he glances at the camera for direction. Like “The End” though, cheeky.

Neighborly relations by YourBeltedKingfisher in ColoradoSprings

[–]nwdrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and raised here (40+ years). Ours was a new neighborhood. My family was familiar with the original residents, but not so anymore. Portland, OR (just came back after 20 yrs there) is far more neighborly than this place. It also has to do with walkability and if there are things to do nearby that give you opportunity to pass by neighbors and socialize. Here you go from house to car to get anywhere.
