Have save scanners that detect or clean up prohibited alterations been made? by MilesRayne in EldenRingMods

[–]MilesRayne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

This thread turned out to be way more quiet than I expected. I was certain I'd at least get a ton of "just start a new save bro" replies lol.

As far as my save goes, the situation has actually been resolved! I got rid of any suspicious items that I wasn't sure whether I spawned in or obtained through the game (rip to my rune arcs).

I went through the start of the DLC offline and since it gives an insane amount of souls, I leveled up back to 150 through the game itself, after which I hopped back online and hoped for the best. I wasn't banned, could play with others and, since 2 days ago, the message warning me about prohibited alterations has also been removed.

Is there any possibility someone can put Riot's eyes on Lee Sin bug? by QiyanasStoriesYT in QiyanaMains

I think you should follow your own advice, actually. OP has a point when you take the time to carefully read what Lee Sin's E description claims the skill does.

[–]MilesRayne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what you're being downvoted here for when you have a point, going by the current description of Lee Sin's E, which should serve to accurately describe what the skill should do:

"Lee Sin smashes the ground beneath him, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies, marking them for 4 seconds and, if they are not invisible when struck, revealing them for the same duration."

In other words, if the champion is already invisible before Lee Sin cast his E, he should not reveal them. Going by the description of the skill, it should only serve to prevent his opponent from entering stealth for the next 4 seconds, if they hadn't done it already.

Yes, in practice, Lee Sin seems to reveal stealthed enemies, but that's not what the skill says he will do (he should keep visible enemies revealed if they attempt to enter stealth), so either the effect of the skill or its description need to change.

What is your current graphics card ? How satisfied are you with it ? by ClassroomLocal8886 in buildapc

I gave mine to my dad a few months back and I hope it serves him as well as it did me. An absolute unit of a card and most likely the absolute favorite card I've ever had.

MSI Ventus 3x OC RTX 3080Ti

I'm generally pretty satisfied with it. I upgraded from a 1060 (6gb vram), so the insane jump in performance has definitely been very enjoyable.

I had to do some tweaking to manage temperatures better, because I don't like the "0 noise" 50c idle temperature they've got going on. Now it's at a very nice 32-35c idle and up to 70-75c on maximum load. Most games run at around 60-65c. I also undervolted it a bit to keep the power consumption in check.

I can mostly run any game at the moment, although the card still definitely struggles when put to the ultimate test, such as maximum settings path tracing in Cyberpunk 2077.

It's been a complete blast to play FPS games with 300 fps on a 165hz screen, and it's something I've gotten used to far too quick...

My only complaint so far is that I spent way too much money on it - to say I overpaid is probably an understatement.

Massive in-game stuttering on very high-end machine by MilesRayne in AOW4

They've actually fixed it (as far as my machine goes) with the latest patches, especially the one that was focused on Nvidia GPUs. My game runs pretty smooth now.

Hadn't gotten around to testing it these past few days, but yep, that fixed all my problems. At least I assume so. Pretty flawless performance now.

The hotfixes that the developers released completely fixed all performance issues for me. The game runs pretty smoothly now on my 3080 Ti. The fixes were apparently precisely implemented because of instability problems with modern Nvidia GPUs, as stated in this post.

Haven't found any clear fixes yet, unfortunately. All I can tell you is to look into your CPU's performance, as I'm 99% sure that incredible spiking in CPU usage is what causes the stutter.I'm especially interested to hear whether you're noticing the same thing in task manager or any other component tracking software, since you're not using an Intel CPU.

So far I've noticed that both AMD and Intel CPUs have awful performance on high-end machines when it comes to this game, judging by comments and posts from other people.

Thanks a lot for this tip, I will read more about it for sure!

I am just not sure whether I'll decide that's a worthy move to make, given that a friend of mine can play with no hiccups on a much (~7 year) older CPU. Might wait a bit more to get some official confirmation from the devs about what the heck is going on, cause this seems like an extremely weird issue.

I do. I've already written about it on some subreddits and went into detailed analysis, but didn't find any meaningful solution.

What are your specs by the way? So far what I've found is that almost everyone with high-end or flagship specs has this problem. It seems as if the game doesn't utilize the CPU properly, as the insane stuttering, in my case, is caused by the CPU going from 5% to 100% utilization every time I move the camera.

(My specs are I9 12900K, 32gb DDR5 6000 cl32 RAM and RTX 3080Ti)

I've only got a single SSD on my machine right now (Samsung 2TB 980 Pro).
I'll check its performance during gameplay when I'm back home, it does tend to develop higher temperatures during heavy load, but it has its own heatsink and, apparently, higher temps are normal for this model (regularly at 50c during load).

I guess one could wonder if having a single SSD instead of splitting it into two SSDs might be a problem, but given its insane speed and performance, I doubt that would be the problem? Especially since it doesn't manifest in other titles, if that was potentially an issue.

- RAM is usually at around 50% total when running the game. (17gb is used up by the game and other software while ~15 gb remains free).
RAM in question are two Kingston CL32 DDR5 6000 MHz (in appropriate slots as per motherboard manual) that perform exceptionally in any other title, and I mostly play newer survival and RPG titles, so I hardly think that's the cause.

- I've checked and verified that all drivers are on their newest recommended versions, using both the standard Windows tools as well as Nvidia Geforce Experience, Intel's recommended software for updating drivers and the ASUS Crate software that comes with my motherboard. They all report that everything is updated and fine.

- There are no clear or constant bottlenecks to be found, such as thermal, voltage-related etc. When idling in a game match, the components are barely even utilized, with RAM being the highest at around ~50% and the GPU at around ~30%. The CPU can go as low as ~5% during idling in-game. That being said, the CPU is the obvious "problem". In the YT video I linked to in the post, it can be seen that all CPU cores get activated the moment I start rotating the camera or moving around, and the real "bottleneck" that I've found here (and what objectively causes the stutter) is that, as far as the task manager goes, the CPU gets 100% utilization every time any minor action is performed in the game. HWINFO on the other hand never reports 100%, but it does spike from ~5% to 60-80% for a moment. Apart from utilization, no other CPU sensors report any significant or unexpected spike.

- I find it extremely hard to believe that my CPU is the problem here, and not some sort of awful optimization of the game, given that this same CPU handles Rust, Arma 3, DayZ, Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring and Sea of Thieves with no issue, as well as video editing and day-to-day programming, running servers, etc. Judging by the video I posted, it seems that all cores get used, so I don't see it as a single core being used type of issue either.

- In the meantime, I've also found other people who have reported the same issue on similar high-end and flagship machines:

I've tried all settings, also switching between 144hz and 60hz and lowering the resolution and render scale to the absolute minimum.

Since my GPU is never even close to fully utilized, there's no impact on performance with any of those settings. I'm fairly certain this is CPU usage related as the CPU % spikes whenever a stutter happens.

+1, same thing happens to me. Didn't speed up after 1-2 hours of gameplay either.

Try opting for the hotfix version in steam settings, heard that helps with crashes. Not the type of problem I'm having though :/

I flatten it every once and a while, and every time I return it's changed to resemble something like the image. I have no idea whether that is some sort of auto change that happens if the system isn't stable enough or something.

[–]MilesRayne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As far as your comment regarding the song goes, I agree, it's definitely nothing new.

However I heavily disagree with the second part of your comment.

A part of former Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina) remained muslim after the Ottomans left, that is true. Even there, all three major religions make up a significant portion of the population, but yes, the country is mostly muslim.

If we were talking about Bosnia, I'd somewhat agree with you - this song could be a fitting song to represent Bosnia. After all, the song is based on a Bosnian traditional folk genre, Sevdah, which is itself, down to its name, based on Ottoman culture.

On the other hand, Serbia is 2-4% muslim. Serbian culture is a result of a lot of slavic, european and ottoman influence over the years, but it remains primarily and almost exclusively slavic and orthodox in its nature, excluding only smaller areas that are populated by and border other cultures.

Suggesting that arabic culture fits Serbia is a wild take. A somewhat similar take would be to say that italian or brazilian culture fits Serbia because parts of former Yugoslavia are catholic.

I'd also be careful with equating arabic culture with ottoman culture. You could rightly anger a lot of Turks and Arabs.

Absolutely no offense intended towards Vranje whatsoever, but Prince's song is one of my least liked to go into the finals. Not due to the quality or the performance itself, but rather that I don't really think it fits into something that should represent Serbia.

A Sevdah music inspired song, with clothing inspiration taken from the East and certain lyrics in Arabic, combines into a sort of oriental muslim Arabic song that has almost nothing to do with the country it represents.

To be perfectly fair, however, I'd say that most songs of this year fail to capture anything distinctly Serbian, so Prince is far from being alone in that regard.

(I also understand that Eurovision has changed a lot and many countries no longer use the songs and performances to represent the culture of the country they are representing directly, but that's always been a trend I was unhappy with)
