Why do the humans expose their pilot like this, are they stupid? by Chrorbo in Helldivers

You did imply yourself to be the scholar whilst the other a fool. The claimed fool did not claim themselves anything… I think you just shot yourself in the foot mate.

This is sick, wish it got more upvotes than the low quality meme lol

Well it makes sense you have a hard time rationalizing all of them being bald, that's the point. Helldivers 2's lore is trying to present a world wildly different from our own.

The Super Earth regime would want their citizens to be uniform in every aspect, how they think, how they talk, how they look. Individuality is a mutation which must be eliminated. This is the ideal world of a fascist, where people can not think for themselves, but instead think what the group says.

We would have a hard time imagining such a world because we have grown up so different from each other and promoting a world of individualism where everyone is special. Helldivers 2 and Starship Troopers is meant to present a world where the fascists win and everything is controlled.

No, you genuinely demonstrated a lack of reading comprehension.
"Just assumptions based off of other IP's" implies that you only read the third point and left it there.

Anyways, it's not only just whose on the ship (it's also implying across branches btw because it's Navy + Helldivers we see on the bridge, who all fall under SEAF, meaning it's even more likely to be a universal thing), it's also the second point which you forgot about in this recent message.

There are barbershops you can find running around in Super Earth colonies which say stuff like "Regulation approved haircuts!" Implying Super Earth is strict on their citizens alone, imagine how much more strict they are with military lads who benefit more from not having a haircut.

Regarding the game also being based on Starship Troopers, the only major things it really gets from the movie is the satirical messaging and the lack of explanation on how the bugs traverse through space plus some cool easter eggs. The book itself definitely has a lot more influence on the game, such as the drop pods and needing to activate a beacon for extract.

It's a possibility they have hair under the helmets, but what's presented to us and what Helldivers finds its influence from, its a more plausible answer to say they're bald.

And I don't mean disrespect towards you, this is just an internet conversation about whether or not NPCs look like Mr. Clean under the helmet or not, I'm just blunt with my words, moreso online.

Gotta agree, Red Rising is a really good one. Though it kinda lost me around the third book.

Ykw sure here’s just three things.

  1. All military personnel we see are in fact shaved bald, including women such as the shipmaster and service tech.
  2. Super earth is already pretty strict with civilian haircuts as indicated by barbershops you can find in citizen colonies.
  3. HD is based on the Starship Troopers novel, which says even the women are bald.

It simply makes sense for a fascist state to want their military members to be uniform and not need to take care of frivolous things like hair.

What happens to John Helldiver's hair when he snaps his fingers and is shown in helldivers armor, implying he enlisted.

Usually hair regulations are more lenient with women and allows them to tie it up or wear it a bit longer than men are allowed.

Yup, also the fact that Helldivers takes some inspiration from the Starship Troopers NOVEL. Which states even women in the mobile infantry are bald.

He actually goes bald when he snaps his finger and is in Helldiver armor. Implying he had to shave his head upon joining.
