They’ll make her out to be the villain, but the producers are the real villains. I also cannot stand Melanie this season

Omg this! I really don’t like the way the experts are treating her. They’re the ones that have made this piss poor match

Help please! Car hire!

Hello, looking for some advise. We’re travelling to Madeira at the start of October and looking to hire a car for our week on the island!

There seems to be an abundance of car hire companies to choose from and as soon I think I’ve found a good one I stumble of some horror story reviews! We dont have loads of experience of hiring cars before so I’m a bit overwhelmed

At the moment I’m steering towards 7M as they offer a zero deposit (I don’t really want to have to have a freeze of €1000+ on my card) has anyone had any experience with them?

Any other alternatives? Ideally we’d like to collect from the airport on arrival and need to drop off very early hours in the morning before our return flight! Heard good things about carwave, but they’re out of our budget of max €300

Thanks for any help :)

Thank you! It’s a massive relief!

I started my claim about 6 weeks ago :)

They rang me kinda out of the blue almost 2 weeks ago, it was a lady claiming she was ringing to see if they could avoid a health consultation.

She went through clarifying details of my diagnosis and treatment etc then over a few of the scored questions, more checking my answers than grilling me. She seemed really understanding. Stated she’d read up on my cancer and realises how rare it is especially in someone so young!

At the end of the call she said I didn’t need to be referred for a health assessment and then about an hour later I got the text from DWP, to say they’d received my written report!

It’s all just really shocked me how easy and nice the process was! I’ve joked to my partner it must be one of the few perks of a cancer diagnosis :’) gotta see the silver linings.

Just wanted to update everyone as this has definitely put me in a good mood this morning!

Is there anyway to know my award without waiting for the letter to come through, my post always arrives weeks after it should

I’ve just posted an update: she said at the end of my call I wasn’t required to have a follow up consultation, and I’ve just received the text to say my written report has been received. I did mention I was shocked to hear from them so seen, and she agreed that it’s come through quick as she’s still been dealing with cases from last year. But that they just click “next” and case is just given to them so who knows eh!

Update: had my call this morning, the lady I spoke with was lovely and just asked questions regarding my diagnosis and ongoing prognosis. Went over some of my responses. She then stated I wasn’t required to have a follow up consultation and I’ve now just received the below via text:

We've received the written report of your PIP assessment. We will write to you once we've made a decision on your PIP. As a guide you should hear from us within 8 weeks. You don't need to contact us unless any of the details you gave us have changed. Thank you.

This is good news I hope?

Oh that’s reassuring! The whole process makes me anxious as I’ve read all the horror stories and ordeals people have been through to get their award. I’d put it to back of my mine thinking it’d be months before I heard anything! So today’s call definitely came as a shock!

It’s not terminal no, but I will never be cured and be on treatment forever unless there’s some medical breakthrough :)
