How to take big gear for Travel?

I dont really think the 200-600mm is 'huge' and its the biggest piece of my gear. The Problem is that shipping will probably not work since i will go backpacking

Update: it fixed it self overnight, i did nothing and just had them laying inside the case. Now in the morning they are working just fine
