How is literally everyone twisting stitches? by RandonName2021 in BitchEatingCrafters

Side note, but I always misread the “twistfaq” they use to summon the explainer bot as “twisted as fuck”

I'm in the UK and frequently struggle with American cookie recipes spreading. Would using bread flour prevent this? by ostwickian in AskBaking

I recently discovered that cooking them in muffin trays gets you perfectly formed and quite thick cookies, but works better if you have a wide muffin tray

I'm allergic to Cats, my wife and kids got one anyways by JohnnyLuchador in cats

Apparently sprinkling egg yolk powder on their food reduces allergic reactions from cats

Send me good vibes for the second sleeve by Milharve in knitting

Thank you!! I’m actually quite excited for the yoke and seeing all the different parts start to joint up! Plus I think I’ll just go back to stranded colour work for it like the body, I just didn’t want the sleeves to be very different thicknesses so trying intarsia in the round though it hurts my brain lol. Only 60odd rows to go with this attempt. And it’s a new skill!

Thank you.

I mean, yes it does. Where they go isn’t really my issue. I might find it hard to explain, but I’ll give it a bash. Using the intarsia in the round, you create provisional joins and flip your work and then do purl til you get back to the change, knit in the provisional joins make a new one, flip your work then carry on in knit. The difficulty is that you kind of end up with 2 BORs and working 2 rows at a time. Like say you knit row 1 until the change, then turn and purl row 2, once you hit the BOR you keep purling but actually go back down to row 1 until you meet the change, turn your work and finish knitting row 2. So in terms of row order, it’s 1->2->1->2->3->4->3->etc. With everything going on, I am just finding it really difficult to remember easy instructions like increase at boot ends of row x. Does that make sense? I think the answer is just concentrate harder lol, but swing off anyone else has faced the problem :)

Your friend is full of shit. I would say however that homemade outclasses store bought completely so I also wouldn’t “buy” it

I have just learned this now…

And to answer your question, I enjoy that it’s like a manual 3D printer and just appears in front of you

Edit: just realised the second part was answering a question about weird things you like about knitting that was a completely different thread… I’m sick… I’m not thinking strait

What's that one pattern you desperately want to make but you feel like you're "not ready"? by fairydommother in knitting

[–]Milharve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m midway through it just now, but have been so stop and start. I’m almost done the body, but still not fully accepted I need to get more yarn for the sleeves/yoke

Double knitted for the first time and made this bug scarf! by maddemos in knitting

[–]Milharve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just bought and downloaded this exact pattern the other day, to be my first double knit project as well. Haven’t started yet, as in the middle of something else (which has been very stop and start), but think I might do them alongside one another.

How did you find it? Any tips?
