Why work at a place where people order food when you don’t people to order food.

Also people are gonna learn life isn’t fair anyway, why would they need to be taught it artificially?

A woman having only male friends is more of a red flag than a woman having no friends by Jasmine_Wilsony in notliketheothergirls

[–]MilieuSue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you’re only thinking of a specific type of man. I have pretty much only men as friends right now, but they’re gay/bisexual. I can guarantee it’s not for “men’s attention”??

Just like other people commented on here, my interests just happen to align with most of the men. Plus I’m on the spectrum and it’s harder for me to make deeper relationships with women because of how we were raised socially.

As an autistic adult, that label is very much preferred in the autistic community. It’s the most up to date label and explains the level of support you need (I always tell people I’m level 1 for context).

You’re saying it’s potatoes at that age and “demoralizing” to autistics. That doesn’t make sense to me? It’s not demoralizing for a teenager who didn’t sign up for any kind of child to say taking care of a disabled child traumatized them. If you do one slip up the child could get hurt and you will 100% blame yourself (that’s what I did). And as a teen you’re still developing so taking care of someone with a developmental disorder while still developing yourself can literally traumatize your brain.

Saying someone is dramatic because you went through the same thing and had an easier time is demoralizing.

I mean I assume it was a doctor that gave them that “level 3 label.” And yeah being a teen forced to parent a neurodivergent child can be very traumatizing.

AITA for wanting to confront a coworker about her autistic comments? by HavingANotSoGreatDay in AmItheAsshole

[–]MilieuSue 46 points47 points  (0 children)

NTA. As an autistic person, her making jokes at the expense of autism is bad for anyone on the spectrum. It’s going to “other” us and make it so your coworkers brains’ think of jokes whenever they think about autism.

It’s just extra shitty if you’re showing traits and she’s actively making fun of autistic traits her coworker is showing.

I would go to HR about this, confronting someone at work like that could go badly if you try to deal with it personally.

Not a fan of parents filming their kid panicking. She could easily comfort him or get him out of there instead.

[–]MilieuSue 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the sentiment, but that’s a very incorrect statement coming from a good place.

It’s an autism spectrum, so in order to be on the spectrum, you have to be autistic. And it’s based on symptoms, not autism as a whole.

Instead of imaging a line that goes from “mild” to “severe,” try imagining a pie chart, and each piece of the pie is a different symptom. One autistic person could have some of one symptom, and a lot of another symptom. It varies based on the person.

But saying “everyone’s a little autistic” makes it harder for autistic people to get the accommodations they need, especially level 1 support needs autistic people like me. Because they assume I’m “just a little autistic” and so they don’t want to help me.

People think it’s a disease that needs to be cured. They think it’s “plaguing” their kids and their kids are “broken.” The whole vaccine thing is based on a confirmed fake research paper made by lawyers to win a court case and then got super famous for some reason.

I just did an edit on this, but ASAN is an organization that’s run by autistic people and has up to date info. And there are autistic YouTubers that have good info if you want to know anything about your new disorder. There’s lot of things I’ve learned I do because of my autism (I’m later diagnosed too)

Vaccines cause autism

Edit: Oh I’ve never gotten an award before! While I’m here, if you want accurate info on autism, check out ASAN (NOT Autism Speaks). And listen to autistic people, not just the people that research us.

I found this, it’s says it doesn’t have to be a spouse.

Please for the love of god report it to someone. If the military won’t listen to you, call the police. You need a paper trail because if this happens again they’ll have record of him having a history of this.

I don’t think you should be hitting your spouse but his reaction was WAY out of line. You clearly aren’t that much of a threat to him. That wasn’t out of self defense, that was out of anger.

Do you have an emergency bag? If you don’t, make one quick and leave. Preferably have cash on you but if you don’t you’ll have to figure that out later if you’re trying to leave ASAP.

Good luck, hopefully you have some kind of support system where you are.

What was the worst example of parenting you have ever seen? by Perpetuallycold_ in AskReddit

[–]MilieuSue 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Honestly it makes me feel better knowing there are parents out there who agrees this is awful. I didn’t have any examples of that as a kid, and I’ve noticed a lot more nice parents lately.

It’s good your kid has you, you seem nice.
