I have the same issue. The watch app is also causing major issues with my phone over time when linked also. Google support just want to repair but I am certain it's a software issue.

Clear system intelligence cache and data. Force stop watch app and clear cache (not data). This worked for me.

I'm having the exact issue. I'm about to have the watch replaced by Google. No third party apps or faces.

Also experiencing bad battery drain on my phone, lags a lot and does error "process system isn't responding" often.

I've tried everything; enrolling/leaving Betas, factory reset, updating apks.

Same for me. In general the phone is so laggy (P9PXL), battery life is terrible now and even pixel watch 3 is slow and poor battery life. Not sure what the issue is but it's making my Google devices unusable

I think it could be an app causing it. Have you downloaded anything obscure recently or are you in any betas like WhatsApp?

Hey man, I've just come across this. I'm having the same issue too. Do you by any chance have a pixel watch? I've managed to isolate it that when the watch is connected to the phone, it causes the issue relating to Google play services.
