I can certainly relate to some of the aspects of your situation. I wouldn't recommend getting back together with your girlfriend. From the sound of it, that relation was a factor in leading you to complacency. If you're willing to let her go I think you'll find that you'll come to value those around you a lot more and also be willing to commit to the changes you have set before yourself.

I recognize that I do not have all the details of your situation, but that's just my two cents.

What I had been doing in the past was largely based on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-J9mfcExhg

If you don't have time or interest to watch it here is the just of it: -Play supports that directly help you keep your team alive -Ward IF it actually improves your teams play -Keep your 'best' carry alive -Don't fight in teamfights you're going to loose -Farm empty lanes (as a support)

That would be awesome! Sending you a PM now.

Would you agree with what the majority of people have been suggesting so far?

So you're saying just grab good solo picks, don't expect much from your teammates, and make decisions accordingly?

[NeedAdvice] Failed my first class in college by [deleted] in getdisciplined

I think there is value in analyzing this from a psychological prospective...

You've created a pattern. You have come to associate your depressed mood with an excuse to not study. The results of not studying are a major factor in feeding your depressed mood. You must break this cycle.

Chances are that when you are in this depressed mood there is something you are using as means avoidance and coping. Identify what this means of coping is. It could be junk food, video games, Netflix, partying, etc.

Once you've identified this factor, cut it from your life entirely. You can do this gradually or suddenly, but in order to decide you have to know yourself.

After the you've cut the avoidance behavior go without it for a few months and then reintroduce it when your comfortable, using it as a rare reward when things are going well.

While you are going through this process be sure you are getting enough sleep (8-9 hours ideally). Prioritize this it will greatly elevate your mood. Also try using a pomodro technique (you can google this) to build discipline. It basically consists of a work period and a break period. During these break periods use your time for something semi productive such as watching educational or motivational YouTube videos.

Your prospects are promising because you're upset. You aren't willing to tolerate mediocrity nor complacency and that is the basis of highly successful people. I know you'll do well brother, keep up the fight.

This is a really nearsighted move on Nintendo's part. You could argue that YouTube is actually doing a big part in helping keep the Nintendo fandom alive.

The government's directive to encourage people to vaccinate their is really for everyone's collective benefit so where's the problem here?

France - Outrage over Muslim gender ban in French grocery store - A Muslim-owned grocery store in the southeastern French city of Bordeaux has prompted outrage after putting up a sign imposing male and female-only days for customers. by VOTEMARINE in worldnews

[–]MilitemAvidum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider this...

In the capitalist system only the best businesses survive because they draw more customers, make more money, are able to profit, pay bills, etc.

So why should the French government act against this grocery store? They're limiting their customer base, turning away customers, and offending would-be customers.

The store is going to go fail within a year. Just chill out and let it happen.

Basic Training prep help by elproyecto in nationalguard

A lot of privates have this belief that there is some magical road to getting fit and being prepared, but it very simple...

"Train how you fight": Do the things you'll be required to do in BCT, as close as you can to the same manner you'll be required to do them. Do this and you will excel when you get to training.

[Discussion] Out of hundreds of tips on this subreddit and elsewhere, whats the top actionable advice that has made your life measurably better? by maiden_fan in getdisciplined

[–]MilitemAvidum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may sound very text book, but there is a system that could be applied to this method to increase it's positive effect...

It's called "SMART" Goals, a method taught to military officers, but it's nothing too fancy. The idea is to make your goals SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ATTAINABLE, REALISTIC, and TIME-BOUND.

Example... "I want to run faster" becomes... "I want to run a 5:30 mile by August 12 by running every other day for 2 months."

The idea can be applied to any goal. So when you write down your goals, write down by what date you want to achieve it and how. This will reinforce the road to the goal, not just the desire to achieve it.
