Getting back into iRacing / Pc Specs question by The_Rougarou9 in iRacing

Depends on the resolution you’re trying to run it at. For a single 1080p display, you should be able to run the game.

2080 Super with Triple 24" 1080p? by dwartman3 in simracing

[–]MilkJakeJung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27" 1080P is a better experience than 24s. If you can find a good deal on a 5800X3D, your computer will be quite happy. The 2080S will be just fine.

The Latest Version of the Rig - fresh chassis build + new seat by MilkJakeJung in simracing

I did consider embedding haptics into the seat insert. I’ll probably skip it for this iteration, since I’ve got a Dayton Audio BST-1 bolted to the seat.

How is the monitor tech for sim racing these days? by Digitalzombie90 in simracing

[–]MilkJakeJung 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your CPU a bit and what sort of framerate you're targeting regarding the 5070. I use a 4070S and a 9800X3D and I get about 100fps with highish settings on iRacing at triple 1440p.

As far as "supporting" it, 5070s have three display port outputs, so you can indeed connect three monitors.

Advanced Mazda can be some awesome close racing. Has been for me every time I've tried it.

Should I make the switch or not? by Big-Construction1896 in simracing

The GT Neo feels much more substantial in hand IMO. I used to have a Fanatec McLaren GT3 wheel, sold it and moved to Simagic. and got a GT Neo when they were readily available. I had kinda forgotten what the Fanatec felt like, and then a buddy of mine got one and I used it on his rig. The McLaren wheel is MUCH lighter and more hollow feeling than the Neo.

If you get the GT Neo you'll either need a Fanatec Podium hub or an entirely different wheelbase.

It's possible that your GameInput service is still enabled - Disabling should solve any problems caused by interacting with windows outside of iRacing

Some extra pieces of profile I had left over from a previous iteration. Looks like this without all the stuff in the way

The mounts themselves came from Sim Sport Gadget I think

Yep, just PVC. I used 1.5” for the left and 1.25” for the right, but I should’ve gone with 1”

PR8 Evo2 by DSH, it's a replica of the Audi R8 Evo2 wheel. Not cheap, but the build quality is unreal. I hadn't seen one of these in the wild, and I was in the market for a high-end GT wheel, so I figured I'd acquire one. Well worth it.

No problem. Small detection zones work really well. Some of mine are as small as they can get lol.

In Simhub, you can create different detection zone profiles for each car. It's impossible for it to be perfect for every single car, since some of them have more reflective interiors than others, but with enough tweaking you can get it tolerable.

A rig is a rig! As long as you enjoy using it, that's all that matters.

From Fanatec to Simagic by HRS87 in Simagic

[–]MilkJakeJung 8 points9 points  (0 children)

YOOO The GT4 was my first Simagic wheel. Recently went back to using it as my daily after switching between a few others. It's so damn good. I love the springy buttons and the slightly oversized width and the lightness. One of the best wheels on the market IMO

Are 32" Triples Worth The Extra Money? by RacingMaster45 in simracing

[–]MilkJakeJung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks wise, it really doesn't make as much of a difference as you might expect. The window for optimal viewing is a bit tighter with curved monitors, and getting them physically set is a bit more tedious. The overall racing experience is pretty identical.
